Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only thing was that some of the decor is looking tired, but to a degree that adds to the charm. In a short time though, the property may just look shabby.

United KingdomA "Luxury " hotel was a fair descrption except that our cosy and comfortable room had electrical problems bedside lights did not fully function and the desk lamp had a bad connection. No hot water was unfortunate and well handled but could have been explained during check in.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go again

United KingdomAs the hotel is made up of a number of buildings, moving between them, outside at times was a pain as we had really wet weather. Bar and lounge not very big and finding free table/seats was difficult at times. It was clear that a lot of locals also use hotel so this swelled numbers. One evening we intended to have a light bar meal but because the restaurant was so busy they stopped taking orders from people in the bar for a couple hours. So we didn't get to eat that night. Not good service for a resident.
Great location, lots to see and do in town. For women excellent variety of shops. Breakfast good, very busy. Room good although looking a little tired decoratively and furniture.

United States of AmericaI left the room cleaner than I found it. I think their vacuum cleaner does not work and they don’t have attachments to clean crevices and along baseboards. Parking should be reserved for those who are staying at the hotel.

United KingdomShower curtain in the bathroom - really a no-no nowadays. Didn't expect there to be a walk-in shower due to age of building which was OK but didn't have a good shower due to the curtain constantly creeping up on me. Needs to be replaced with a glass panel please.
The restaurant, lounge and bar were very cosy and inviting and the staff so helpful. The location was perfect and looked over to the cathedral, 200 yards from the market square. Housekeeping was good too. A great place for a mini-break.

United KingdomThe entrance to the car park was rather tight and it was full the whole time were there. We arrived at about 2.30pm on our first day and got the last space.
We booked last minute and chose a four poster room. When we arrived the next day we had been upgraded to the Cathedral Suite! It was magnificent. Three sumptuous areas with a wonderful view of the front of the cathedral (and a gold bath!). Because it was my husband's birthday, his dinner (two courses) was on the house! (You need to provide picture ID to qualify). The food was delicious and the ambience very relaxed. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, particularly Diane in Reception. Breakfast was good with perfectly poached eggs on the buffet. I've never come across that before! Coffee was good and service efficient.

United KingdomThis is a pretty pricey hotel - you pay for the location. The lighting was so subdued that reading was not easy. Because the choir were eating as a group, we couldn't get a table at the early time that we would have liked - so didn't eat dinner in at all during our stay.
This is an excellent location in the centre of this lovely little city. Being able to park at the hotel is great. Luckily there was no pressure on parking because most of the hotel was taken up with an American choir which had arrived by coach. The staff were friendly and the room comfortable.
