Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTheres a mix of rooms that are new and refferbed and older styled rooms that dont have a smart tv and are very dated. Its quite unfair as you get charged the same amount of money.
I enjoy staying at the spa when im in TW for work. It has a gym which is not great but better than no gym at all. Air con and smart tv are great!

United KingdomThe room is right next to the road, it changes the mood of "spa". The bed is on the hard side. The spa pool has a very loud fan which is a bit annoying. I ordered well done slow cook rump steak roast dinner, my bf had it medium. Along with the disappointing roast potatoes, my beef looked like charcoal, tasted dry. one of the worst roast dinner I ever have.I would highly recommend a medium if you can. Also, the portion is also small. 4 pieces of mini steak slices
The room is quite spacious, the shower is very comfortable. The bed is in good size too. The spa pool is smallish good looking with nice shower/changing room. It also has different time slot for kids and adults. The restaurant overlook the beautiful garden

United KingdomThe only think that could have been improved was, although we had a 'cosy room' it was not as modern as the pictures on the website or the ones we saw when housekeeping were cleaning and could see in.
The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful. The main areas of the hotel looked modern, but also classic. Lots of comfortable areas to sit. Great location, just outside the main part of Tunbridge Wells - only a 10 minute walk in. This meant very green and quiet.

United KingdomVery little to gripe about. The cable on the hair dryer provided in the room could have been longer, or the hair dryer installed closer to the mirror (or vice versa) - using it while looking in the mirror resulted in a constant tug-of-war for my wife! That aside, couldn't fault anything.
Friendly, helpful staff on reception. and both check in and check out very fast and efficient. Free car parking. Very well cooked breakfast and a good choice of freshly cooked dishes, served quickly. Room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. A/c was efficient. Plenty of soft towels in the bathroom. Grounds were well-maintained and plenty of seating provided. Location was good - just a short, enjoyable walk through parkland to the centre of town (15 to 20 mins).

United KingdomThe air conditioning kept going on and off all night and kept me awake a bit (told the lady on reception in the morning so it can be resolved for future guests)
Fantastic spa experience, and great room service (food was lovely and delivered quickly). Room was a good size and comfy. The staff at reception were really friendly also.

United KingdomEach and every member of staff with cheerful friendly knowledgeable and kind. Olivia at reception made sure I had everything I needed in a kind considerate and understated way. I loved the pool and went three times which helped my body immensely. I would recommend the spa hotel for a special occasion break. We were very impressed Many thanks to all concerned

AustraliaCoffee was awful but was at an additional cost. Pillows were far too hard and no alternatives were available that were an improvement. No fridge in our room but we needed one for medicine. Lift was not really clean.
Breakfast as fair. Other meals were very good. Staff were all lovely.

United KingdomThe room (303) was in a loft, it was small with some sort of ridiculous and uncomfortable seat stuck in the middle of it. And it was up far too many stairs for my old knees.
Most staff were attentive, professional and worked hard and with a smile on their face. The young man waited on our 100th birthday celebrations personified that.

United KingdomThe bedroom, far too much furniture, so such a tiny room and no thought on layout. You tea and coffee on a table with no plug socket next to it. The rooms are extremely hot on the 3rd floor. Not wanting to clean the rooms….i get no new towels, but I disagree with not checking to see if water has been used. Having to ask for water wasn’t great. I don’t expect to have to do that in a hotel of this standard. I don’t like having to book for breakfast, especially when you do, you wait 30mins before your coffee arrives. The ladies who arrived 20mins after us, got their coffee and breakfast before us.
I like the gardens, tennis courts, bar and reception area. The style of the rooms.

United KingdomOur room was painted all over in sage green, which made it quite dark an a bit depressing. The decoration may be fashionable, but as it was so dark and not to all tastes. Dining in the restaurant is a bit on the expensive side.
A really nice hotel and in a great location, close to the Pantiles, but quite a way from the centre of town. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming .

United KingdomI've stayed here several times now and the rooms are very hit or miss. Some are recently refurbished and are very pleasant with a luxurious feel, whilst others are old, tired and depressing. My review score is based on the nice room I experienced this time. The old rooms would score a lot lower.
Fantastic room and great facilities in a very characterful building and grounds. Breakfast is excellent and served in a nice setting. The pool facilities are a nice addition.

United KingdomThe spa area became very busy with noisy, lively young children in the afternoon. On the hotel details on Booking.com it does not say that children are welcome. Booking a Spa Hotel you would presume it will be a relaxing break. The children were not even quiet; one was screaming because he was afraid of water! We had to leave in the end as it was like a children's swimming pool.
The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good; special mention to the breakfast host lady; very friendly and chatty

United KingdomThe only thing that we were disappointed with was our dinner, the dining area was pleasant and so were the the staff, the portions of the food however were tiny, none of us have huge appetites but although it tasted nice there simply wasn’t enough of it and it was overpriced. So we decided not to have breakfast the next morning. A real shame as it was the only thing that disappointed us!
The hotel was lovely, well maintained and it was as good as my last stay four years ago. The spa was very enjoyable, clean and not too busy. Though expensive the treatments were a high quality with good therapists, we were on a girls spa weekend and had a lovely experience!
