I notice that toilets opposite the reception was out of order last time I stay at the hotel and this time I stay there they were still out of order again .

Check in time at 3pm could be a little earlier preferably. Early check in is possible but at £10 per hour so not ideal. Floor boards in the room a very creaky which usually wouldn’t be an issue but with a baby sleeping in the same room wasn’t ideal. Also the bed was quite bowed in the middle so wasn’t the comfiest nights sleep. Perhaps a new mattress may solve this.

Location is great, amazing proximity to the sea front and parks. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Breakfast portion size was good.

The mattress was a little on the thin side and not very supportive, but did the job for a few nights. Whilst the room was mostly in very good condition, especially the bathroom, there were some battered bits like the doors and the loo seat. Probably made more noticeable by how nice most of the room was. A couple of coat hooks would be useful after coming in from the rain. The corridor outside the annex rooms is an echo chamber so anytime other guests arrived, it could be quite noisy, so light sleepers may prefer a room in the main building. A loo brush would have been useful. Bedside lights were a little dim. Main lights were exceedingly bright.

Great location, between North and South Marine parks, next to the beach and funfair and a short stroll into town. Parking included The room was very large. All the staff were excellent. Cooked breakfasts really nice, as was the evening meal we had there. Fan heater was great for a little boost one cold evening

room was excellent with view of the fairground, amusement arcade and the the beach, could watch the family atmosphere from the window. South Shields a lovely area with the River Tyne, ferries, beaches, roman forts etc .a great location for a family holiday Staff friendly and helpful.

The hotel has recently been refurbished , the staff and the drinks were fine but the bar area its self is soulless and seating uncomfortable . The bathroom in our room let the room down , with cracked tiles around the bath and the door needed painting properly to bring it up to a nicer standard .

Firstly , all of the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious with a sea view and the bed was comfortable . There was a good choice for breakfast and everything was cooked nicely , the lady who worked in the dining room and served breakfast was lovely and chatty , in our opinion she was an asset to the hotel as was the chef .

The way things was explained,we paid for bed and breakfast and evening meal. Only thing we wasn't told was that we had a £60 allowance to spend which wasn't very good between 3 people

Unfortunately room was very stuffy and smelly when we arrived, sorted with air freshener provided by staff and opening the windows. Wi-Fi was very poor in our room although good in rest of hotel. Quite noisy location was the trade off for being close to afore mentioned amenities.

Location was ideal near beach, parks and funfair and a good base with 2 children under 6 in the group. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly on arrival and during our stay. Room was large and reasonably comfortable for our needs.

Breakfast was served barely warm which was disappointing when cooked fresh. Warm plates are a must. Hotel has been modernised but room we were in requires more not just a makeover.

We were put in annexe away from the hotel where the rest of the family were staying, and we had booked the hotel months in advance, so it was disappointed we weren't all together.. The shower flooded the bathroom each time we used it.

Place is supposed to be refurbished but the bath was filthy the heating did not work the water was cold paint work was not finished to a good enough standard there was no milk for a cup of tea u have stayed here in the past and it was better then before the refurbishment this time the refurbishment spoiled the stay I hope the refurbishment of the hotel is completed by the next time I come for a holiday

Rooms are very dated, bed mattress needs changing very old and not comfortable bathrooms look dirty due to leaking shower, tiles need re grouting and bathroom door was poorly painted. Actually a shame as room size is good and the bedrooms are just in need of a complete renovation

No air con and lift would be great if you're on 2nd floor especially . We were provided with a fan which helped and windows open wide when you use safety press button but still stifling if weather is really hot .

Location is perfect! Everything on your doorstep Restaurant and bar have had lovely refurbishment too . Staff are lovely and helpful and breakfast delicious.
