Nothing. It was perfect.

This hotel is CONVENIENTLY located right outside of the train station. Like, literally across the street from the exit. It couldn't be more perfect. You'd think with it being so close, it would be noisy but far from it, it's very quiet. The room was stunning and we had a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting when we arrived in the room. We ate dinner downstairs in the restaurant and Callum, our waiter, was delightful and friendly. Lovely guy. We stayed two nights and had a sit down breakfast for one morning. The next day we had an all day tour of the highlands and Loch Ness so didn't have time to sit down and eat a breakfast but they did pack up fruit and snacks for us to grab on the way to our trip pickup point. Excellent hotel and not far from the castle or the Royal Mile shops and restaurants.

Water pressure in the shower not great, paint on walls a little worn but neither was a deal-breaker!

We had the apartment-sized room with a separate living room and dressing room, GREAT size, high floor so very quiet, espresso machine, closets, snacks, perfect location just on the bridge in the middle of everything but not right on the busiest street so again, lower noise, super friendly and helpful staff, loved it and would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for our wedding night and I can confidently say it has been the BEST hotel experience I have ever had. The staff were exceptional from helping me organise a room to get ready for the wedding day with my wedding party, and we received the most amazing gift of being upgraded to the penthouse. This stay made our wedding. The service was exceptional and allowed us to focus on the wedding day and have a gorgeous day after. The room was incredible, clean, gorgeous and the View! Thank you to all of the staff at The Scotsman, we cannot express our gratitude in words.

We truly liked everything

The Scotsman was in an excellent location, just off the Royal Mile. The staff was great, our room was very well appointed, and breakfast was very good. We ate in the Grand Cafe and our dinner was delightful.

The housekeeping and room service were both inaccessible (most of the times they wouldn't pick up) and slow (when we finally got through). Considering how great the rest of the experience was, this was a big flaw.

Excellent location. Right next to the station and close to all the major tourist spots. Done up really well - tasteful and aesthetic. Rooms were comfortable and roomy, loved the little lookout! Small touches like the whisky samples made a difference Front desk staff was very warm and helpful

We wanted twin beds which they provided but I was afraid to turn over and fall off. They were very narrow. Other than that it was superb! Quiet, love the pillows and the huge bathroom and the room was very spacious. Lots of closet space

The overall property is beautiful - stunning reception area, the Grand Cafe was equally as beautiful and the rooms were incredible. Everything was elegant and stylish but not at the expense of comfort.

The breakfast provides an excellent choice of food but the hot buffet could be better (not in terms of choice which was excellent, but it was dried out at 9am, possibly cooked very early).

Location is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable, cafe is lovely and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

It' a pity that there is no public reception/lounge area to sit in. However, the large bar is very comfortable and good.

Our rooms were superb. We loved the turret area in the bedrooms, it had a table and chairs with views out over the city centre etc. The location is perfect as city centre.
