Tired in places, broken window catch so we couldn’t shut the window properly. This wasn’t a problem for us as weather 24 degrees however in cold weather it could be an issue. Bathroom and shower area very small.

Excellent breakfast, great location. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Room nice and clean. Large house and garden. Think the reviews on the booking site were for the most fair and honest so we knew what to expect for a reasonable price.

The choice of radio station playing in the dining room was a little odd. Given the clientele, radio 1 didn’t feel appropriate and the volume was quite loud. I could have done without rap music accompanying such an excellent breakfast! Maybe radio 2 a better option.

The room was a little tired but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a good sized mirror on the dressing table next to a window with lots of natural light. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and really good service. Very tasty fruit salad and really well cooked Full English.

The wallpaper in No 10 bedroom, on one wall it’s a forest scene, which l thinks a bit over the top. Every window could do with cleaning or replacing, some window wouldn’t open or you couldn’t close.

The lounge and dining rooms are very nice, and the staff are lovely.

The decor is a bit dated, but perfectly acceptable for the price paid.

Comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit salad, strawberries, spiced pears and well cooked scrambled eggs with lots of bacon. Lovely garden.

I would suggest a bit more lightning in communal areas and garden at night. Being a smoker, it can be a bit of a challenge to walk around in the dark. However, understandable and manageable.

Staff very friendly, really comfortable bedroom and very good breakfast.

Sitting in the garden and enjoying the sunshine. Short walk to city. Peaceful location. Good breakfast. The prices were reasonable and we were able to eat in the restaurant when we arrived. We had to rooms beside each other which was very helpful

Nothing really from our point of view. Some might consider it a bit worn round the edges but if that bothers you there are concrete motels along the A14. But it's a long walk into Ely.

Within easy walking distance of the main attractions of what is in effect a small town. Attractive garden, ideal for a summer stay. Inside, like an old-fashioned small hotel with comfortable public area and a bar. Very pleased to be offered an evening meal. It is unusual in England nowadays in a place in this price range to be able to order a drink at the bar, take it outside into the garden and then go inside for dinner, and still walk into town afterwards. And decent breakfast.

Room smelt old and musty and felt dirty. No lamps by the bed. On arrival with 3 bags no offer of help to room. Everything was too much trouble for the host. Could hear him in the kitchen shouting while cooking. Dinner menu didn’t offer any vegetarian option. No restaurants near by so asked if there was anything he could do and he offered a ‘cheesy pasta sort of dish’ it was hot but served with new potatoes some very old looking corn on the cob and cauliflower.

Breakfast was ok and the lady who served it was very nice.

Just the ceiling height, fine for a shorter person.

Clean well equipped single room, small with sloping ceiling. Well decorated but not ideal for a six footer. Great breakfast. Plenty of tea and coffee in room.

Our room (4) had the kitchen extractor fan under the window and it was noisy, but only for a short period in the morning.

We liked the breakfast very much because there was lots of freshly prepared fruit and muesli too. Poached eggs cooked well and very friendly service.
