Ask for an internal facing room if possible, we were facing the square and it was very, very loud until the early hours of the morning on Saturday night. A nearby room was also very loud when they got home around 3am and continued their party (I'm sure staff would had handled it but we didn't call reception as we were completely out of it and not sleeping from the outside noise anyway). The spa facilities were okay. Booking can definitely be improved upon, you have to call the spa after checking in to book a slot. We tried five times on the Saturday, no answer, left a voicemail with contact details, no response. We called again Sunday morning and were able to book for that afternoon.

The bed was huge and very comfortable and all the staff were lovely. The bar was great.

Room was a little tired, had some issues with the shower but staff were quick to try and find a solution - could do with an update though as the rest is great

Beautiful building, the spa is really nice and bar area very pretty with lovely cocktails!

The room was quite small given the price we paid .

Perfect location, in the heart of central Manchester. The excellent Manchester tram service has station just outside hotel. Room was clean, large TV and well decorated.

We were in an accessible room. Would be really helpful to have hangers at the top of the wardrobe for non wheelchair users as nowhere to hang dress or longer items. Also a mirror & socket at the dressing table.

Good location. Staff really helpful. All areas of hotel were clean.

The coffee from the machine at breakfast is incredibly poor quality. If you’ve got a Nespresso machine at home, you’ll find the quality of the breakfast coffee intolerable. There’s a proper coffee machine in the bar but you would pay separately. The spa facilities were lovely - the staff were so welcoming and kind - but disappointing that the steam room was closed and the pool is particularly chilly!

Beautiful building and room had been thoughtfully decorated in keeping with the building’s aesthetic. Elemis products in the room were very welcome. We upgraded on the day for £20pn to get a seating area and upgraded bathroom, when we got to the room there was just one armchair with a table but we called to reception who immediately sent the housekeeping team to sort something out. They were great - “leave it with us, it’s no trouble” and within a few minutes we had a second chair and were wished a wonderful stay. The breakfast was hearty and well cooked in a beautiful setting.

Because of location, lots of police sirens throughout the night (Friday and Saturday night). Not the hotels fault, but worth bearing in mind that the noise may disrupt sleep.

Bar price, £7.50 for a bottle of Peroni plus12.5% service charge and that is going to the bar yourself, complete rip off. Tip, ask to see the bar bill first, get the service charge removed and leave your own appropriate tip Lots of Large white stains on bedroom carpet, disgusting Paint on bathroom ceiling flaking off Dismal view from bedroom window over central area Television switching itself on at 3:00am on full volume Only got hot plates available near cold food at breakfast, melon just doesn't sit right on a hot plate, . Not being able to have an evening meal in the Dining room because it only opens from Thursday. My bedroom was excellent on the whole, but there was no natural light in the room, so was dark. The window was covered over.

    Can’t fault the property.

The rooms were spotless. Staff were extremely polite and engaged in conversations. The hotel is in a perfect location. They let us store baggage for free on the day of check out so that we could explore and come back for them later.

We were unfortunately unable to use the spa, despite being given a complementary session when checking-in at reception, because it was fully booked in the spa! Afternoon tea was also not available because it was fully booked and so it's clear that the facilities need to be booked well in advance of any stay.

    Central location. Lovely chic hotel.
