Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhen approaching the Inn the first impression is not great. Half of the sign is missing and the whole building needs a repaint. It is a shame because the outside is not representative of the inside. Do yourself a favour and give it a coat of paint!
Lorna and Jack were extremely helpful. Breakfast was fantastic as were the evening meals

United KingdomWe booked a room.for 2 adults and a child - though we had to bring a bed for the child (aged 4 so too big for travel cot) The bed wasn't overly comfortable, felt like had a massive hole in mattress half way down. Bathroom cabinets were missing half the lights.
The staff were lovely and great we could take the dog. Location was great - and the food was amazing.

United StatesWifi did not work in rooms, only in the main lodge area. Not much in the area itself, but St. Andrews was not a far drive.
Dinner and breakfast were exceptionally cooked- probably the best food we had during our trip. Property was very cute and the buildings were very nice.

United KingdomRoom was not carpeted. Felt cold and basic. I think we were put in a room set aside for people with dogs. Poor shower over bath and could not reach window to open it. Meals in restaurant were expensive. Bed was very hard.

United KingdomThe room was small and quite dull. The TV was small and on the dresser not the wall, taking up a lot of the limited space available to place personal items and causing neck svk when trying to lay in bed and watch it. One very small wardrobe/ cupboard is awkwardly positioned in the corner for access. Tea making facilities too low down on small shelf(suitcase rack) 🤔 Bathroom small, toilet tucked behind door and very close to hand basin. Shower not overly powerful. Only given one bath towel and hand towel on arrival for a double room 🤔🤔 One shower gel, shampoo, and tiny bar of soup. 2 plastic throw-away cups in bedroom beside coffee and tea making items. No glasses to rinse mouth out after brushing teeth No shelving in bathroom or shower unit for toiletries. At £150 per night per couple breakfast was not included 🤔🤔 Overpriced for overall stay and experience. Photos in add do not give a good reflection of Property The young gentleman on reception, was very welcoming and was very attentive to our understanding of the running of the Inn.. but a little overbearing. Big in stature and over exuberant in personality.. I was a little bemused at his response to my enquiry as to why we only had one bath towel and one hand towel in our room booked for 2 adults. " oh is there, yes we'll, we don't usually give out two as sometimes the hand towels go missing or aren't used.. saves us on having to wash as many and on having to.replace any" To which I replied " really 😳, well, I'm not in the habit of stealing hand towels... or sharing one bath towel 😡 but I do like to dry myself with my own towel during my stay 🤔 On arrival, the overall look of the room was OK. But when I took off my shoes the floor was covered in a film.of what seemed like sand.. my feet were gritty and no marker where I stepped it felt like I had just left the beach.
The location was very nice, quiet rural. The food was exceptional, to pub grub standards, and the quaint restaurant was a delight. The menu was full of wonderful choices (if a little overpriced) Hamburger and chips, lasagne, garlic bread, with an extra side of chips and onion rings. 2 ice cream sundies and 2 cokes £88.. but on Sundays, the restaurant is not acceptable, and the less appealing bar area was open for food where a very dedused selection from menu was on offer🤔🤔
