Comfortable and thoughtful stay went in prior to our arrival to put the heating on and close curtains as it was a chilly wet day we appreciated this warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was exceptional, good quality and choice and excellent staff A good breakfast

The staff were ways welcoming, cheerful . Jennifer especially is a great ambassador for your hotel. The room, warm, beds comfortable and shower perfect for our needs. Easy to park and the bartender pours a mean gin.

The Inn at Lathones was a bit tired and in need of sprucing up.

Breakfast and meals were very good, excellent menu. Staff were competent and friendly, Hotel was well placed with plenty of parking

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.

The inn was full of charm with added history, log burner in the bar area making it very cosy , along with great food served in the Resturant. This time we visited without a dog -excellent option to bring your furry friend as welcome in the bar area. Ideal for exploring the local areas of St Andrews/Fife

Unfortunately they were having problems with the heating and it was a particularly cold spell but they gave us oil heaters

Annexed cottage style accommodation was a bit tired. Hard wood floors were quite scratched and scraped. Single glazed window in the bathroom and the electric shower was incredibly weak. The bath however was deep and hot.

Staff were excellent. The log burning stoves were a welcome sight. Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent!

Rooms were very cold. Not near enough heat. I couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower.

There was nowhere to sit in the inn during some of the day as no staff on site. Room was a bit cold but staff rectified it. It was snowy when we were there so a warm pleasant seating area would have been a bonus.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The place was charming. The beds were comfortable.The food was delicious.

Check in was super easy and well organised. Ditto check out. No Delays. The girl who checked me in even walked me to the room and explained everything. Very personal. Nothing was a problem. I loved that you saw the same staff there the whole time, so it felt more like a family establishment than an anonymous hotel. Jennifer was excellent at checking in and then as a waitress for dinner and gave great advice about the area. Top marks to Jennifer. Also the man who organised and served at breakfast was super nice and helpful. I think he was the manager but again it felt more like a lovely family running the place. I was visiting my nephew who is studying in St Andrews and we had dinner one night. Excellent food and service. The venison stew was lovely. Even more impressive was that I heard that other guests were disturbed by a group of young students screaming at Night: Jennifer and the breakfast man took a no nonsense stance about noise. This is refreshing. I pay to stay somewhere nice and to be able to sleep. I’d recommend Lathones to a friend. I’d come back.

Room needs an upgrade, particularly bathroom. Shower screen over bath didn't move making entrance/exit quite tricky. Finishings poor quality

Access and exit from busy (and fast driven!) road required care. Had to travel to walk dogs first thing in morning, but good yard for late evening tiddles (the dogs!). Light above mirror didnt seem to work/part of toilet button press missing/two died wasps missed in bathroom. Reported on departure but nothing that really troubled us.

Excellent Dinner. Room was suitable for the two large dogs that accompanied us. We liked the slight quirkiness of the building and staff very helpful. We will return.

Although bathroom/shower room adequate and clean could be done with a freshen up/makeover. We visited during storm babet and quite a draft coming from front door in under room door.

Staff all very friendly and their service was excellent. Good choice of dinner menu and food excellent, good choices for breakfast.Thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Room comfortable with comfortable bed.

Our bedroom was cold, we could not get the radiator to work, we did mention it the next morning and they said they would sort it before the next guests came.

The breakfast was very enjoyable though the toast could have been a little browner! I had haddock and poached eggs and my husband the salmon and scrambled eggs, very good.

Getting in and out of room challenging with two doors and steps plus entry door opening towards outside. Some assistance with luggage by staff could overcome this.
