The doors rattled at night due to their age. This happened when staff walked along the corridor.

The room was good. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was lovely, but there were a lots of pigeon's outside my room which kept me awake.

There was no lift or chairlift for my disabled mum so we had to carry her up the stairs - hotel not recommended if you have mobility problems.

The hotel was lovely and old. I hate modern hotels. Prefer old style class.

The window in 214 didn’t close properly so was really cold in Feb. The noise from the pub next door till late/ early hours. Not the property’s fault.

We had 214, it had the lovely window and free standing bath. The room looked lovely and the bed was so comfortable.

Bed was uncomfortable. Hotel must do something about roosting pigeons outside the bedroom window.

Limited parking so I had to park on the road overnight and move it in the morning Staff were manning the reception and breakfast so there was a bit of a wait to get noticed and it was not clear where you needed to go

Staff were very friendly and accommodating as I had my dog with me but they had no rooms left for pets. They managed to sort something out for me and followed my request to be in a part of the hotel that was quiet so the dog settled. Location was perfect in the centre of town and 5 mins from where I needed to be for work. Quiet area to work throughout the day in the lounge area of the bar I would describe this place as pleasant basic It was clean and comfortable but some TLC needed - Shower coming off of wall slightly, scuffing on walls

The breakfast was a full English but was quite average unfortunately.

The room was clean and spacious with friendly staff throughout - easy check in. The building itself has a lot of history which was interesting. Great location in the centre of Wellingborough with a pub attached downstairs with plenty of seating and a pool table.

The parking is a bit of a faff but we got there with it. Our room was generally clean and nice and we were comfortable enough but it could have done with being a tad cheaper but it wasn’t too bad

The location was perfect for my needs and also the building is lovely. The staff were super helpful despite me needing various random things! Thank you all

The building is great but we weren’t told before we arrived that there was no food being served. Some parts of the hotel could do with updating but I guess it is all part of the old feel that the property offers.

Lovely old building with lots of character. Being able to take the dog was a bonus and there is a large park behind the hotel which was ideal for a short walk.

Sadly our stay was a little soured by the constant having to get staff to let us in the front door, which is understandable but frustrating. The one thing that soured our stay the most was a member of staff who was doing the night shift 2 nights in a row had bolted the door from half 9 at night and we were told we can only use the back car park for smoking, which would be fine but we couldn't go out and get food or go for a drink if we wanted to.. I felt like a child with a curfew. This time of year it would have been nice to have gone out and not worried about not being let in. I'm sure he would have let us in, but moaned about it. The room we were given needed some tlc, stained walls, wallpaper slightly coming off in places, and a small hole in the wall and the WiFi for the tv hadn't been sorted so my partner had to do that himself. We were given room 111, which is in the middle floor hidden right at the end of the hall. The shower was nice once it heated up which seemed to take quite awhile to do so. The heating was strange as it wouldn't come on until past midnight which overheated the room and my partner really struggled to sleep because of that. Lastly the beds sadly had a far too firm mattress which was quite uncomfortable to fall asleep in.

The day staff were lovely and more then happy to give us more sugar/tea and milk as we got through it quite quickly being two of us and we love our tea. The building itself has a lot of character, and it felt like we almost had it to ourselves which made it quiet.

It took me a while to work out how to operate the shower and adjust water temperature to my preference. When closing the water tap in the shower; it does not easily turn off the water. May be to replace with simple taps so as not to end up wasting water, as well as time spent just trying to make sure that the water is turned off.

Location; close proximity to the town centre and the places I wanted to get to. Staff were kind. Alternative room was provided when requested.
