The bed was very springy and somewhat soft. The hotel was also loud, with other guests shouting in the middle of the night. Overall though the hotel represented reasonable value for money.

I liked the historic nature of the hotel and the breakfast each morning.

The stairs.... like climbing up Everest ;) Bathroom - clean and tidy but no decent-sized towels provided. Lucky I brought my own as this is a regular thing in hotels around the country. TV - any chance of the sports channels? Unable to watch the footie during the week... not particularly interested in watching Family Guy and Last of the Summer Wine wherever I go. For the money spent, this is something I would like to see addressed.

Liked the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. A little warm, but that can't really be legislated for from guest to guest. Reasonably well stocked with hot drinks, but a little obsessed with coffee (allergic to the stuff). Bathroom clean and tidy.

The only thing that went badly was that I couldn't work out how to adjust the temperature in the shower

Great for an overnight stay while working nearby. Clean, modern room with a comfy bed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Heating was on and rooms were hot to sleep in for me but that's more of a personal preference than an issue as i know other people may have found the warm temperature comfortable.

Room was clean and modern with all amenities necessary, beds were comfortable with good pillows.

It took a while to locate someone when we checked in and no one was to be seen anywhere when we checked out, so we had to just leave keys at reception. The windows didn't close properly. Luckily it wasn't freezing and the heating was on, but not very energy efficient. TV reception was patchy.

The beds were very comfy and the room was very clean - we had a double and two single. Spacious enough to not trip over each other in the night and good lighting arrangments. Staff were friendly.

food needs some work as I ordered for the 1st two nights then decided to eat out for the rest of the week. 1st night I had the steak which came under cooked the vine tomatoes that accompanied it were also raw which was upsetting. I ordered a side of garlic bread that was just a baguette cut in half with butter and herbs but no garlic what so ever. the 2nd meal was a burger, if I hurled it at the wall it would have done damage to the wall while the burger stayed intact.

The look of the hotel is fantastic, rooms are cosy and nice atmosphere and real character, Absolute prime location to stay. the shower in the room I enjoyed very much, it had a rain fall head on was very relaxing. The WIFI is also top notch, the top speed I was getting was a little over 79mbs.

The breakfast could be greatly improved, only smoked bacon which we are not partial too and sausages overcooked, and portions could be better.

Considering the £20 charge for a dog one would expect a dog bowl to be provided.
