Cosy and friendly stay. Nearby nightclub ruined the evening a little bit.

The bathroom shower was coming off the wall which felt quite unsafe to use! But the biggest let down was the fact that there was a club down the road that had very loud music and crowds. The closed windows didn't stop the bass and talking from bothering our sleep. Was probably a bit unlucky with the room we were given as it was closest to where it was but considering it's next to a hotel you'd think they would at least turn it down after a certain time. The club went on throughout the night.

Greeted with a very vintage hotel entrance that gave off a warm feeling. Staff were friendly and helpful assisting us. The Room was nice sized, cosy and had a big double bed with a clean bathroom. The morning breakfast was pretty standard but good for the money. Overall a good stay

With very thin windows next to a very busy village centre and street, the nights were very noisy, and because of that noise, we could not ventilate the room by opening a window.

The room looks okay, including the beds. It was an old characteristic / historical room, and the hotel is located close to our route as we were passing through the UK

Unfortunately our bedroom was by the traffic lights through the main town, several motorbikes woke me up revving pulling off from the lights through the night. This is no fault on the hotel but something to be aware of. Room was also very very hot throughout the night, a fan was provided by the hotel but unfortunately did nothing to cool the room down. Toilet also placed weirdly (to make it fit in the bathroom in fairness) but being a larger lady meant sitting on the toilet at an angle. Not something I didn't like but something I wish there was more of throughout the hotel, information about the history. For a grade 2 listed building, I would have loved to know more about the history of the building and information relating to Oliver Cromwell etc. Perhaps I missed this but being a history fanatic, this would have been amazing information to have available.

Staff very friendly, room was very clean. Fantastic location right in the town so we managed to entertain our son by shopping. Car park was secured at night which helped us relax about the car.

The bedroom and en-suite were fantastic, just needs a little more attention to cleaning as there was a small amount of mould in the shower tray.

Very tired hotel in need of full renovation. Carpets very old thread bare on stairs. General decoration in many areas of poor standard. Breakfast over cooked bacon and sausage burnt. Toast on side of plate soggy. Service good. Very poor cold selection.

I'm not old enough to remember the 1930's but my stay at the Hind reminded me of tales from that decade. No TV then or now - at least no signal for BBC 1 or 2. I was not bothered but 1930's visitors would at least have had the light programme and home service (radios 2 and 4 today). Bar menus outside made no reference that when there is a sunday carvery nothing on those menus is available.

Brilliant shower. Far better without a bath. Helpful and friendly staff, some very young and nervous. Wonderful historic building.

We upgraded to the suite with a bath. Lovely room, comfortable bed. Only downside was the noise all night from the night club outside and cars and bikes revving and speeding up and down the road. Had I of known prior I would of selected a room at the back of the hotel. Saying that, we still had a lovely stay. Breakfast was nice but the poached eggs need to be cooked a little longer as were very snotty when cut into.

The hotel was a lovely old historic hotel and refurbished to an excellent standard.

Whilst I appreciate the hotel is very old, it is very tatty. The food available in the hotel was poor with hardly any veggie options. The coffee was awful!

Location to close to the local pubs, very noisy untill early hours. Hotel was tired and thread bare. Whilst I know it's old it could do with a paint and replacing carpet.

The noise. As it is a listed building, the windows are very old and don't close properly...you can hear every conversation going on outside where people are either walking past or had stopped to chat. Noisy traffic until approx 1am. Could hear people in neighbouring rooms and sounded like someone was moving wardrobes upstairs.

Nice sized room. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage space and teas and coffees. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
