Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAs I was transiting had a bit of luggage and no lift to the upper floor. Thanks to the great reception staff who helped me with this.
Edinburgh is very expensive so finding a good place to stay in transit is a challenge. This hotel is on the main airport bus route into the city centre but only 15 minutes from the airport with excellent bus links. There is a busy bar restaurant in the hotel and other restaurants and shops nearby.

CanadaI loved the spacious room, and how quiet it was in spite of the hotel being on a busy street. The restaurant had good food, and free refills for tea and coffee. It seems to be a popular place for the locals, especially on Friday night-- it was packed, yet service was still exceptional. It is also on direct bus routes both to the airport and to downtown Edinburgh.

United KingdomBed was a small double (as opposed to a regular double), no temperature control in the room so it we had to keep the windows open and there was next to no wardrobe space.
Room was spacious, tea & coffee making facilities, wetherspoons pub downstairs & all round nicely decorated hotel.

United States of AmericaLoud door to each floor makes for alot of noise late at night, especially for rooms near the hallway door. I can understand a locked door for the first floor entrance, but please get rid of locked doors on each upper floor. Too noisy! Also, having bedside lamps independently lighting room would be nice. Could only fully light room, or dark
Clean, large rooms

United KingdomPerhaps a little noisy from the traffic. Ok with windows closed but would be worse when the ventilation needed.
Great location as we were leaving for the airport in the morning and out in West end previous night. Parking free which i didn't expect. Great cheap breakfast.

United KingdomRoom could've used some more lighting, but honestly we had a great stay. Nothing to dislike.
Very clean, comfortable room and a very cosy hotel. Area is nice and quiet as well. Excellent value for money, and it's attached to a pub where you can have a cheap breakfast. Staff were helpful as well.

United KingdomThere were quite a lot of stairs
The hotel is a short distance from the Zoo and on the bus route to the airport. The room was lovely and a good size. Staff were friendly. Dispute being busy in the pub, the food and drink were served quickly after ordering on the app. The same was true for breakfast which is not in the room rate but available in the pub.

United KingdomHad a room at front so could hear traffic in early morning. One day seemed really busy so get a back room if light sleeper. Had a double room with a small double bed. Okay but used to more room and room was plenty big enough for bigger bed.
Excellent location. 20 min bus ride to Edinburgh centre on well serviced route, even at night for a late night concert out. A few other shops and restaurants around if needed. That said Wetherspoons have plenty of food options and excellent beer choice. Best value around. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Near the Zoo and Murrayfield but all other attractions within a bus ride. Even went to seaside at Portobello on bus that goes past hotel for £2.00 each way

United Kingdomno complaints.
Room was comfortable & Clean. A little diappointed as attic room with just roof velux windows with no view, but the up side was it was nice & quiet. Breakfast was optional in the bar and was great value as per normal witherspoons menu. Location great for bus into city centre. We appreciated getting a space for car in car park.
