Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit cold, especially the tiled floor. The windows in bedroom and en suite were a bit drafty, contributing to the overall temperature.
The room was small (as expected as we chose a small double), but the bed was very comfy with good quality linens. Good value for Brighton and was quiet overnight.

Loved our stay at the White House, would definitely recommend to others. Communication with the hosts was amazing, from the email received prior to our stay with all the clear, useful check-in information (we did not physically encounter any staff but digital door codes made the check in process so easy), to during our stay (as we had some questions re late check out) and they were very helpful and quick to respond. The room itself was lovely and clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom also clean (and shower pressure great) with high quality toiletries provided. The location is also amazing being right in the heart of Kemp Town (if you are an LGBT visitor like we are then that's perfect as it's the LGBT hub of town) but even if you aren't - all the main tourist spots of Brighton are within walking distance. Some great cafes for breakfast nearby (Egg&Spoon!). Overall - 10/10 stay, would come again.

United KingdomWhite company hand wash and hand cream Cotton white bedding
Pros: Hotel was spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed Fantastic location Complimentary white company hand wash/cream Room nice and private and quiet Tea/coffee facilities and kitkat Fan in room and heater if needed Lovely white cotton bedding Cons: Key code entry System which we had trouble getting into room on arrival but thankfully cleaner was there and she let us in and called the owner and sorted it out straight away. She was very helpful and it was all sorted out very swiftly and professionally Our Small double room was located on 4th floor. A lot of steps to climb which left me out of breath lol Shower not powerful but adequate for a quick shower. I think your would have trouble washing long/thick hair I would def stay here again and I had no complaints Thank you 😊

GermanyBed was comfortable enough, but a double bed made of 2 single mattresses, which sometimes can be tricky. It wasn't for me.
Very clean and neat, with good amenities (coffee, chocolate, water) and all the basics covered (towels, hair dryer, etc). It is refreshing to stay in a comfortable place that seems like a home.

PortugalWe got a small room facing the main street, so it was a bit noisy on the weekend and the air got a bit heavy overnight.
Above all, it was a great stay and it commenced before our arrival, when our request for a late check-in was promptly acommodated. Likewise, leaving our luggage at the premises after checking out was not an issue, we felt cared for because of that. The property has a brillian location and is very well looked-after. The wifi is very fast, there are complementary coffee and tea. The bed is short (I'm 1.90m) but the linens are superb. Highly recommended!

The hosts were exceptionally responsive to making sure that my stay was comfortable. The room was clean and modern, including an expresso maker in the room. There were helpful suggestions for restaurants. When I had a problem the hosts were kind and helpful.

AustraliaVery, very hot & sleepless night. No aircon, nor fan. Winter bedclothes (med/heavy comforter) on bed. Proprietor has gone to trouble of fitting out very nicely, incl double glazing - surely makes for a cosy nest in the cooler months but is a stifling, sweaty - albeit well appointed - little sauna in summer. Could be easily remedied.
Very clean. A contrast to the rest of Brighton.

United KingdomHonestly, I cant fault it at all.
Very comfy, very quiet, faultlessly clean, lovely room. Good size room and bathroom. Easy to check in and out. Did not meet staff but service via intercom to be let into the building and I was later texted to check all was ok. I will absolutely stay here if I stay in brighton again.

We had rooms 7 and 10, both were perfect for us as solo travelers. They would also be great for a couple. The tea/coffee stations were a perfect addition, plus extra points for the Yorkshire tea! Check-in and out were easy.
