A lovely old inn with modern and interesting interiors in a beautiful rural setting
    • Leisure trip

There was a problem with the heating in our room. We know the weather is on the chilly side for June but when we returned to our room after dinner the heating was going full blast and the thermostat on the radiator wasn't working. Informed reception and they turned it off!

Quirky decor throughout. Our room was lovely and food was high standard and delicious. The staff were charming.

The bathroom was rather old-fashioned and tired with inadequate lighting.

The staff were very helpful, friendly interesting to talk to. The location was convenient and the setting is sylvan. The food was excellent and the helpings very generous.

Food was a bit too salty for our taste. Apart from this it was an excellent one night stay.

Quaint historical pub, lovely service. Young male receptionist gave us tips to visit Avebury instead of Stonehenge which we really appreciated.

Nice and cozy rooms. We had dinner there, convenient because the hotel it’s not at the heart of Castle Combe, dinner was fine, a little expensive.

The only reason it did not get a 10/10 was because of the breakfast. I spoke with the front desk after dinner the night before and let them know that we would be having breakfast there in the morning and needed a table ready for a family of six. When we arrived in the morning they were not prepared and had to seat us in a different room from where the breakfast table was set up. Also the continental breakfast table was scarce. We arrived at 0800 and it was open from 0730-1100. There was a bowl of ice where yogurt would have been and when I asked for more they only brought one and said they had more more if we needed it but that was it. There was no fruit, or toast. I think maybe four croissants left which my children did have but my husband and I did not. And there was less than half a bottle of juice left. After we arrived another couple came and they were also talking about how there was no food available. We did have hot food options from the kitchen which were good but overall the options could have been better.

Great place to stay and full of so much history. We loved the atmosphere of the pub and the design of the rooms we had. We rented four rooms and they were all together across the street rom the main building. The had a charm and comfort we very much appreciated. The diner was amazing! The pies were incredible. We loved staying here.

Address shows as Castle Combe, when is actually its in Ford about 1 mile from Castle Combe. this is not a problem as its in an idyllic location,. The problem is when you put the White Hart Castle Combe into the Sat Nav it takes you to the other White hart.

    Room Excellent, food excellent.

The female staff was a bit rude to us during dinner but the guy at the bar made our evening enjoyable.

Great breakfast, very nice outside space to eat, spacious rooms, next to a brook, and can do a great hour-long trail. Also near a bus stop.

Sadly, the bathroom in our room was very run down, paint on the floor where it had peeled of from damp, shower head was very rusty , the room was fine and beds were very comfy but it was just the bathroom that let it down. Could do with a refurbish
