As a 6ft 2in man, there are limits to how comfortable a shepherd's hut can be but the separate shower/WC and the outside table and chairs made three nights OK. A longer stay a d I think I may have struggled. We booked this though for the quirkiness and to tick off a bucket list item so very pleased we did it.

The host Tana was very pleasant and accommodating. The shepherd's hut was very quirky and hidden in the corner of a beautiful winding garden. The resident chooks and doggy greeted us every day we returned from a day out. It was a very relaxing three days and definitely something we would do again.

Wonderful stay at wayside shepherds hut. Very warm welcome from tana and her daughter. Everything you could wish for provided in the shepherds hut even a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge on our arrival. 😁. Lovely location 👌. Would definitely recommend for a little get away.

Beautifully snuck away in the corner of the garden, the Wayside Shepherd Hut is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need in a very small space. The Hut was clean and comfortable and the surrounding area is lovely and suited us well for our planned walking and cycling. The community run village store (2 minutes walk) is very well stocked and there is a local pub 4 minutes walk away. We hope to return later in the year.

Didn't like the very soft foam mattresses. couldn't listen to radio or TV as sound was very poor and crackly.

Great location in the heart of the New Forest, only a minutes walk from a cosy pub. The shepards hut was super cosy and a perfect hideaway. It had all the facilities we needed which was topped by a lovely little wood burning stove, which kept us warm in the howling storm! The shower block was also clean and cosy and the fairy lights outside the hut were a lovely touch. The owner was very welcoming and thoughtful too - we had a wonderful stay! Would highly recommend 😊

We didn’t find anything we didn’t like, but if you’re not used to camping / glamping you may find it fairly snug. It is exactly as described - a shepherd’s hut. Don’t expect a large caravan!

The Wayside Shepherd’s Hut is set in the garden of a thatched cottage. The setting is gorgeous with fairy lights in the trees, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into the property. The host was friendly and welcoming and made sure we were settled in before leaving us to our stay. The facilities include a small fridge and freezer, 2 burner hob with a grill and oven. Although the hut is very small, it is comfortable. There seems to be everything you need to cook meals if you wish to, but there are places to eat nearby if you prefer. The bed is comfortable. The settee is snug for 2 people, but there is also a picnic table and chairs outside along with a small bench and sun loungers. Inside there is a foldaway dining table and chairs. The shower and loo is in a small separate building, and are clean and provide soap, shower gel etc. if you need them. There is also a small wood burner, but we didn’t need it as the weather was warm.

Only 2 things I would like to see changed, was to put some stepping stones or grass down from the hut to the toilet as the stones really hurt your feet, and secondly the sun loungers need changing as they were very old and corroded, I was to afraid to sit on them incase they snapped in half.

Location, and how pretty everything was. Attention to detail inside the hut. Friendly welcome.

The pathway to the hut was muddy. This may have been to the amount of rain. However, as a suggestion, maybe make it a grave path

The shepherd's hut was well presented, clean, and well equipped for a couple looking. Log burner heated the hut, really quickly. The shower/toilet hut was clean with a nice shower.

Really nice hut with a cozy fireplace, had all the amenities. We were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, there was milk in the fridge and breakfast cereal available as well as coffee, so we felt really well taken care of. The hosts were very flexible too. The environment is beautiful, it's the perfect weekend away to cozy up

All just fantastic, the host's were lovely, the chickens were lovely and the dog too :) The location was very quiet with birds in the bushes outside in the morning, local shop and pub within walking distance. Had a fantastic time, thank you very much. Elizabeth Will be returning without a doubt.

Really cosy hut in a fantastic location right in the middle of the New Forest. Lovely hosts who welcomed us when we arrived. Village shop and pub on the doorstep and great walks. Perfect also for kayaking on the river and biking. We had a lovely stay.

The hosts went above and beyond to solve an initial issue regarding the gas. The hosts even supplied a new electric single hob, kettle and exceeded all expectations!! I wouldn't have to think twice about booking again!

Just loved the quaintness and cosiness alsohow private it was despite being in someone's garden. We had visits from chickens a beautiful dog and cats in the distance. The hut is well kitted out and little touches like flowers processco milk cereals tea coffee all provided meant a lot. The trip to bathroom during night was interesting but facilities good. Extremely comfortable bedThe location is ideal for visiting this area we were here for a planned trip to auto jumble at Bieulieu Estate. Would come again.

Forgot to bring slippers the walk to the shower/loo was bit painful without shoes.

Enjoyed the quiet location, it had everything we needed for a few nights stay. The setting was ideal to hide away and have some proper relaxation. Being greeted by the premises security, three crazy chickens was added bonus. We loved the girls greeting us every day.
