The steep stairs and no lift or offer to carry suitcase.

No lift and stairs steep (old building) could be a problem but great location.

Only issue was lack of elevator and I was on the top floor: My food order was mixed up and I was double charged for the room: all was fixed so not a big deal.

    Location was excellent

Great staff apart from Manager who spoilt our family dinner when we came to pay separatly (as agreed with staff) for a set menu (we had reserved a table but not been informed of the set menu at that time). Aparently set menu prices and a small number of drinks was too difficult to manage for this manager. No 10% discount for inhouse gursts as advertised either. We didnt eat in again during our 5 night stay. Rest of staff were lovely.

Comfortable bed, clean and tidy. Central location to shops and cafes etc.

It was too hot under the duvet. Couldn't we have a thinner one? The shower was a fixed head which is not the easiest for getting clean. And there was no chair in the room, but we did know we were booking a 'small double' and there wasn't room for one.

Check-in, cleanliness, helpful with breakfast changes, good location, quiet room, provision of drinking water, good TV.

Food was excessively salty. I normally add salt to my meals, this time I was wishing |I could take it out. Evening meal of Friday was Red rice salad . I couldn't eat it, it was so heavily salted. Breakfast, mushroom were pickled with salt eggs were edible but I would prefer less salt. I returned to hotel shortly after midnight. I couldn't see the black card reader in the dark. There was a white bell with a small light built in, so I rang that for about 10 mins to gain access. Outside light is needed over front door.

Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room. Central location.

We were delighted with the location - although we thought it might be a little noisy at night, we were out so it didn't matter to us. The room was lovely with nice views, although we did find the stairs a bit of a struggle - so bear that in mind if you have older knees. Our only thought was that it would have been nice to have had an easy chair or two in the room to avoid having to sit on the bed, but it's not a huge thing for one night stays. Breakfast was delicious - and a lovely change from the standard hotel buffet!

It can be a little noisy on the Pantiles. Breakfast not included, so a fridge in the room would have been handy, but the staff very kindly brought up fresh milk on request.

Perfect location on the Pantiles, stylishly furnished, very comfortable bed, helpful staff and good value. When it turned out I was struggling with stairs to the 5th floor due to an injury, the staff not only helped with my luggage, but found me a very splendid room on a lower floor for the second night, and honoured the original price.

The ‘optional’ service charge in the restaurant did not sit well with me. What other industry awards itself a bonus (apart from banking & finance)regardless of of the service provided. A tip should be earned & not expected. Relying on people’s decency by not deducting the add on is tantamount to emotional blackmail & is a practice that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

The bed was very comfortable & the bathroom was superb. Hot water on demand &

Had to battle with the over officious security to get into hotel due to jazz night and they tried to force me to wear a wrist band. Need different method for guests to access/leave hotel during the jazz night.

No lift in the property so had to walk 7 flights to get to my room. Room was very small so was grateful it was just for me. Bathroom although okay was very tiny. No spare toilet roll left in the room and less than half on the roll. Messy wires and very dusty. No surfaces to be able to put anything out Restaurant was actually in the reception area which was odd and not very cosy for a meal Breakfast was not included so felt that was expensive for room only. During breakfast all I could hear was a staff meeting as they were only feet away which I felt was inappropriate to hold within earshot of guests to be talking about other guests and what was planned that day

    Perfect location. Bed was comfy

Stairs!!! Lighting in our room was dim. Tiny bathroom.

All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. William assisted carrying suitcases to our room as there are many stairs and no lift. Location is excellent, close to many options to eat out. Hotel dinner for the Pantiles Jazz night was delicious. Paid parking was easy and close by.
