The room was located at the top of the pub meaning we had 2 flights of stairs to go up with our luggage and being pensioners was a bit hard. The room had a couple of low beams and being over 6ft tall I did hit my head a few times.

The breakfast was very good, no complaints.

The only downside was the noise of the band very loud, felt like my bed was vibrating. And noisy patrons outside pub. Saying this it is a pub at the end of the day and was aware there would be music. It soon quietened down at closing time.

There was a concert in the pub downstairs the night of our stay. We didn't really mind, but it was really loud and might have been bothering to some guests. Moreover - we were not told in advance. Also it is very hard to find a parking spot nearby.

An average hotel in the city center with an amazing pub with great selection of beer. The breakfast was good.

The hotel is part of an old British pub with soul. Very nice and helpful staff. Friendly atmosphere. Clean rooms. Very good location. Delicious breakfast. Definitely recommend that place :)

The live band playing till 11 was loud and I wasn’t aware before booking. I wish I had known. On an ordinary night I think it would have been great, but it did keep me awake …

The Swordfish is a busy pub in the centre of Newlyn and was easy to find. The bed was super comfy and large, and the breakfast was freshly cooked served by a lovely lady.

The quality of the mattress let the whole experience down. A basic double too small . Very noisy at night . Firstly drunks very loud then wind blowing canvas barriers noisy all night long . Parking was a nightmare.

Difficult to get an Uber/Taxi from here; we had to make alternative arrangements. The Mousehole bus runs relatively frequently if you don't mind that.

I find Newlyn a very convenient place to stay when visiting Penzance. It is not too far, and has inexpensive parking. There are a surprising number of really good restaurants including two IIRC with Michelin stars! The inn provides all one needs for a cosy night (as long as one doesn't want to sleep really early (due to the pub garden being adjacent). Breakfast is exceptionally good. The showers are extremely powerful!

I rarely write disparaging reviews but I was disappointed that breakfast could not have been organised for me in the morning. I had to leave by 7.20am, hardly an early departure time. I also found that the kitchens were open and breakfast could have been provided. £100 for the double room + breakfast - fine. Without breakfast I wouldn't consider returning unless a refund could be made. Sorry for the comments but you need to know!

I was pleased with the comfortable, well appointed accommodation. The pub was ideally situated and I found it quiet with a pleasant atmosphere.

There was a loud fan going off and on all night that kept us awake, might have been from the Chinese next door.

The room was lovely, cosy and clean. It was a good size with a lovely window to sit in front of and chill. The bed was super comfortable. The cooked breakfast was tasty and good quality ingredients.

Quite noisy outside until late, could be worse at the weekends. Had to keep curtains closed as people sitting outside could see straight in the low windows. Strange gurgling water coming up through shower drain regularly, got used to it being a quirk of an old building.

Very comfortable bed with nice fluffy pillows, very good breakfast. Good location. About 1.5 miles from the train and coach station. Good size clean and comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities.

The window in our bathroom was sealed shut which meant there was no air. Therefore didn't smell good and was difficult for anything to dry out.

We only stayed one night as part of our coastal path walk and had a very entertaining Saturday evening in this very lively pub. We were allowed to bring dinner in from the Chinese takeaway next door which was excellent since we were too late for all the restaurants nearby. Don't come here expecting a peaceful stay. It is loud and a lot of fun. Breakfast was good and the staff were all very friendly.
