Very friendly and helpful staff, made the place feel very relaxed. Exceptionally clean in every aspect, rooms are a little plain but very comfortable a beautifully cared for. We really liked it and thought it was great value. The local regulars in the bar were also all really friendly which made for a good atmosphere. We travel with two large Golden Retrievers and felt very at ease with them being with us it was all really relaxed. Great base for exploring the local area.

someone had charged a load of drinks to our room that weren’t ours. It all turned out fine but we ended up feeling awkward because it looked like we were trying to skip out on a bar tab. It wasn’t a big drama but just made us feel uncomfortable!

No guest information available such as emergency contact number, WiFi or bar times etc-when asked was told the WiFi. No milk in the room for the coffee/tea - was given some when asked Water cold so couldn't have a bath No shampoo or Hairdryer in the room No option of breakfast I just felt that for a four star there was something missing from the stay although I would stay again and was perfectly happy during our stay.

I was on my own with my dog and was immediately made to feel welcome, the meal I had sat infront of an open fire was great. Room was a good size and had a homely feel. I was only there two nights but was also made to feel welcome by the clientele who chatted and invited me to join in on of the quiz teams that night, I declined but was encouraged to join the free after quiz buffet.

The Shower- scalding hot to freezing cold when water was used elsewhere. the Saturday night singer was not to my liking and as they could only seat me in the bar to eat I had TV and music in one ear and the sound of the singer in the other.

location was close to my work place. plenty of parking, mainly quiet. food was well priced . real ale very good. good value for money.

Very dog friendly. Great pub menu if you have dinner. Super close to the M1 but still in a quiet rural location. Much better than a motorway hotel.

Shower could have been set up better. The shower head would not point downwards and had to be held.

The staff were bickering and didn't get along, the communication or lack thereof between them meant service was slower and confusing to watch. Sometimes I didn't know if the staff had heard me and I felt like they just didn't want to be there. They need to change when people need to leave the rooms by time wise as no one was around when we left the room and the place was locked up. Didnt feel like guests really and more like we were visiting distant relatives that didn't care too much where we were.

One staff member was quite nice and gave us drinks on the house.
