Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing could have been better really. There was a bit of a doggy smell in the downstairs hall perhaps - but if we hadn’t have been able to take dogs we wouldn’t have been staying here so not an issue for us. Other than that I can’t think of a single issue, it’s a beautiful place.
We loved the accommodation, I have never stayed anywhere where EVERY KITCHEN GADGET EVER THOUGHT OF was provided. We even had a garlic press. My daughters loved the garden which was gated so I could safely them play out whist we packed up, which was handy. There was a pond that we enjoyed feeding the ducklings on and for us, the location was AMAZING. We were central to everything we had planned over our 3 day stay.

United KingdomNothing! If I was to criticise one thing it would be that the bathroom was downstairs and was a pain if needed the loo in the middle of the night but this would not stop me returning. It would also would have been nice to have somewhere to put my toiletries or have a small dressing table.
Everything! Beautiful place to stay with everything we needed. Very comfortable, cosy and clean. Stacey the owner made us feel very welcome. Very accommodating with our dogs.

ItalyThese are the things that would turn a 9 rating into a 10 and are not unreasonable for a €200 per night location. Most are mentioned in previous reviews so a bit surprising they have not been addressed. The heating is a big challenge in that it goes off early (before match of the day) so I had to sit watching tv with a blanket (I recommend brining slippers and pyjamas). Then the heating comes on very early so I woke up sweating and even though you can turn the radiator valves down I had to open windows to get the room to a sensible temperature. Then not long after 9am it goes off again and is freezing in December. I could have called Stacy but you don’t want to be doing that all the time. There was a ‘strobing’ light, mentioned in other reviews that was infuriating whilst trying to eat my dinner. It was fine for me, but a family would appreciate a dishwasher. Really annoying - no toiletries. I know it is not a BnB but how many travelers bring shampoo and soap. I have a buzz cut so could shower with the provided ‘hand wash’ but this seems a big miss. A couple of reviews mention the noisy fridge and when it kicks in you have to turn the TV volume up :). I sleep very soundly but others may need to switch the fridge off at night (easy to reach switch fortunately). Sorry to mention so many things but they are the little annoying ones that really make a difference. It was still a lovely relaxing stay overall
Firstly - it was a great stay, with just what I needed after a week of city hotels: peaceful, comfortable, own kitchen. There is a great shower, excellent hosting, nice tv (although I couldn’t log into my Netflix) and a very nice atmosphere to stay in. A nice alternative to my usual UK stay in Manchester centre.

United KingdomFridge runs like diesel truck and while loads of lights, some were strobing. Possible electrical problems were further confirmed in a book with instructions how to restore tripped electrics lol Arriving at dark didn’t give enough indication which door to open, had to call the owner to confirm that the sign to follow has been removed for refurbishment
Good sized and nicely warm on arrival. Sofa was so comfortable and the bed omg the mattress was great to sleep on

The Hayloft is a delightful property in beautiful surroundings with a chic boutique feel. Spacious, modern & spotless. The property offers so much more than a hotel. Well positioned (only a couple of miles into Congleton for supermarkets etc), with a modern kitchen, Netflix, secure parking and the opportunity to enjoy beautiful country views. Stacey is a great host - welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and available, if required. I am so pleased that I had the opportunity to experience and enjoy The Hayloft. If you are looking for top quality accommodation in beautiful surroundings then I would recommend checking out The Hayloft.
