The eggs at breakfast were a tiny bit overcooked.

The room was lovely and they played classical music on the radio when we came in, which was a great bonus. The room was well decorated and beds luxurious. They provided a dog bowl and treats in the room, plus a coffee machine for the humans. The breakfast was delicious and very well arranged. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My evening meal was poor and when I mentioned it to the waitress she didn’t know how to deal with it. Nobody spoke to me about it and I left the restaurant feeling annoyed rather than happy.

As one might expect in an older building, our room had some slanting floorboards which was slightly off-putting…but the room was still generously sized and comfortable. Parking seemed to be a free-for-all with some cars being allowed to block cars whilst others weren’t. However, there are other parking options very close and cost only £1 overnight (6pm until 8am). Also, the water pressure in the shower was a little weak for my preference.

Breakfast was delicious. There is a continental you can access whilst your cooked breakfast is being prepared. Note that if you go later in the breakfast slot some continental options run out (such as the chocolate croissants much to my partners chagrin)

The parking situation is a mess. We ended up at a public lot more than a quarter mile away. The information does not make it clear that parking is generally not available. Also should note the rooms do not have air con and it could get stuffy

The room was nicely decorated but very small for the price. It was next to a busy main road. It was across the road from the hotel, meaning a walk outdoors, whatever the weather, for breakfast. The weather was good. No dishes were moved throughout breakfast off any table despite the tables blocking up.

The decor was nice. The staff were nice and very helpful. The location is good. The hotel has character, inside and out.

The Stairs. No lift. But you can ask for help to get your luggage to your room. Which they are very willing to help with.

Facilities were excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and service very good indeed.. Could not fault our visit . A hotel you most definitely want to come back too.

Parking may be a problem, and there is a small free hotel car-park. There other car-parks a short walk from the hotel but these incur an overnight charge. We were advised by e-mail of the parking facilities before our stay. Once we arrived at the hotel we were able to park the car in the hotel car-park for our 5 night stay. We decided to leave the car parked and use the bus or reasonably priced taxi services to get to the various places that we wanted to visit during our stay. Therefore, it was not a problem for us but I can appreciate this may be a concern for other guests staying at the hotel.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly - including the cleaning staff, the receptionists, the bar staff, the restaurant staff and the chef who chatted to us too. The location of the hotel was excellent and very central with easy access to bus stops. The rooms we stayed in were lovely and situated on the second floor of the main hotel building. There is no lift (being an historic building) so a member of staff kindly arranged for our luggage to be taken to our rooms.

An old property but with modern facilities

Ventilation in the bathroom could be improved as walls got very wet when using the shower.

Breakfast freshly cooked and there was a good selection of Pastries etc also. Room was compact but comfortable. The bed was large and I slept really well both nights.
