The single bed was rather past its best !

Traditional pub in a delightful small town . Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a single room at a lower price .

WiFi not so good. For us it was fine but if you don’t like dogs think again. If you have a dog this is the pub for you!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good, well kept beer. Quirky old building. Good traditional pub. We did not have evening meal so can’t comment on that but breakfast was good traditional fare.

We missed the fact that they didn’t serve evening meals on the day we arrived but I guess that’s our fault!

    Cooked breakfast was fantastic.

Sloping floor meant that the bed was at an angle. But with an old building that is to be expected. There was a long wait for food, but no more than we had been warned.

Really excellent home cooking for dinner. Steak and kidney pudding had best steak, not just odd bits. Staff friendly and helpful.

The room and front door locks are 'temperamental'. The doorways and staircase ceiling are low, so some head bumping occurs, but that goes with the age of the building.

Great value for money, good full breakfast (evening pub meals sold separately, also good value), friendly, helpful staff, ensuite room with quirky features due to the age of the building (Tudor?).

The property is very old and does not lend itself to bathroom facilities of a standard size, but they are new. No on site parking facilities, but has free public parking across the road.

The cereal selection was excellent, mine was served with fresh raspberries and strawberries. the toast was made with fresh brown bread . Instead of the usual english breakfast I asked for a bacon sandwich to take with me which was happily provided wrapped in foil. Susan, the manager, could not have been more helpful.

You had to park over the road and being an old building the stairs are steep. Not for the infirm There was nothing to dislike and you didnt want for anything but for what you paid it was fine

Loveky old building with pub and restaursnt. Bedrooms are clean and tidy Food at night was good Breakfast was okay. Nothing spectacular but like being at home. It was cheap and for the money perfect for a night stop.. This is obviously the meeting place at night for the townfolk..very chatty

Not a great menu if you don't eat meat.

As expected with a pub it was very noisy until late at night. Bed and en suite fine. The menu didn't appeal to me so I didn't have any meals apart from breakfast. Breakfast was very good.
