Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe didn’t get told the bar area wasn’t open until 12pm on the day we were arriving. We spoke to people of a pub nearby, they told us it had been a long time since the bar had been open but know one crack a light to us until hrs before we arrived. We realised we were not on city centre but didn’t mind as thought the hotel had a bar but as I say, there was no where to get a drink.
The rooms were clean & cosy.

United KingdomNot enough tea bags or milk, one each is not enough. People were easily heard from the street. Parking wasn’t easy and area looked rundown and not particularly safe to leave my car anywhere. But everything turned out ok.
Easy to access late at night. Warm and clean. Beds were comfortable and for one night it was perfect. It was quiet inside the hotel. Would use again but only with own transport as I’m not sure I could afford to get multiple taxis in and out of the centre.

PolandNot consistent with the description, photos misleading. "The Royal Crest is a 5-star property in Liverpool and offers a bar." It is not 5 star and has no bar (information came on arrival day), no reception, no place to store lugagge. This was huge disatvantage because in close area there is no shops, no restuarants, no kiosk, area is a bit creepy to walk, to city center is around 25 minutes (10 minutes walk to metro and than 2 stations) which would not be a problem if there was anyplace to buy juice or something to eat. Free toiletries where simply one tiny shower gel. Very poor soundproofing. For two people there was only one duvet. "Wired internet is available in public areas and is free of charge." - there are no public areas in this property and no internet. I asked for instructions but never get help.
Good value for money as UK is rather expensive. Room was clean and warm. Contactless check in was on time and ok - I prefer it this way.
