Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy son would have liked a mirror in his bathroom! Dodgy bedside lamp switch in my room.
Given the two star state of the location in a clearly run down area of Liverpool, it was a wonderful surprise to open the door onto a smart, modern, boutique hotel, created with excellent taste out of an old pub. Spotlessly clean, quiet, restful, neutral colours, comfortable, even free onstreet parking right outside. It didn't matter that there was no reception staff as we received clear instructions as to now to get in and check out. Will certainly recommend as somewhere to stay in Liverpool if travelling by car, and no need to stay in the city centre.

United KingdomBooking page shows a bar and it is advertised as a Hotel and Bar, there is no bar to my knowledge. The location is definitely not the best, but you’re 10 minutes away from the city centre so it’s nothing to cry about.
The room was clean and spacious. Shower and toilet were also clean. Very good value for money for a night or two when needed.

Unsafe Runners on the sliding door in the shower didn't work properly Bedside lamps didn't work Original sash windows were drafty and noisy, and wind howled through it. Car parking on the side road didn't feel safe, especially as travelling with teens and parking up at night Felt like a student accommodation One teabag and one milk sachet provided between 3 of us One tiny shower gel between 3 of us £145 for one night is steep for what it is.

United KingdomNo reception. windows were a struggle as they were old shutter windows which wouldn't stay open so the heat were unbearable. In a standard sized room sleeping 4 people you need a window open in the summer. Location required taxis everywhere unless your willing to walk miles. Location surrounding the hotel is rough and in the middle of the industrial estate, not pretty at all. It advertises there is a pub but this isn't open and looks shut down. For the price it wasn't terrible but I'd rather pay a bit more and stay more central. I couldn't stay more than 1 night. A

United KingdomThere were a couple of issues with the room, but it was not a massive issue. One of the bedside lamps was stained and had no bulb in. The shower was very stiff to turn off, especially when it was wet. It was very hot when we stayed and we was on the 3rd floor, the windows wouldn't stay open so we had to wedge a bottle in the window for some air as there was no fan or air-conditioning. There was also no mirror in the room. I guess you get what you pay for.
Overall, it was a great little place for the price we paid. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a good location. The bed was a decent size and comfy. There are plenty of plug sockets, which are handy and a big tv.

United KingdomWe didn’t get told the bar area wasn’t open until 12pm on the day we were arriving. We spoke to people of a pub nearby, they told us it had been a long time since the bar had been open but know one crack a light to us until hrs before we arrived. We realised we were not on city centre but didn’t mind as thought the hotel had a bar but as I say, there was no where to get a drink.
The rooms were clean & cosy.

United KingdomNot enough tea bags or milk, one each is not enough. People were easily heard from the street. Parking wasn’t easy and area looked rundown and not particularly safe to leave my car anywhere. But everything turned out ok.
Easy to access late at night. Warm and clean. Beds were comfortable and for one night it was perfect. It was quiet inside the hotel. Would use again but only with own transport as I’m not sure I could afford to get multiple taxis in and out of the centre.

United KingdomIntentionally misleading - make sure you read the reviews (and hosts responses) before booking! I booked this hotel, which according to booking.com is 5* to be utterly shocked upon arrival to realise it is actually a 1* hotel (after googling the hotel as I was sure my SatNav must be mistaken) Aside from the fact that it is in a run-down area covered in graffiti, once you go over the threshold the disapointment continues. All the photos shown are of areas that are not in use ( Admittedly, this was explained in an email sent on the day of arrival, by which point I was already travelling and so didnt see until we were already there. However if I had read the reviews I would have understood that the bar and photos shown have not been accessible for years, hence why I believe this listing to be deliberately deceptive) This is poor, student style accommation at best and as such the 5* rating and photography are intentionally misleading and deceptive. Upon letting yourself in via the keypad, you are met with a staircase covered in brick dust where the exposed walls are crumbling. The top floor room where I stayed has an issue with the shower (very stiff to turn off, it took a good 10 minutes of trying), no lightbulb in the bedside lamp and not a single mirror (I was staying for an awards event and ended up having to get ready in my car). There is a note on the door with a mobile number to call in case of issues. I called straight away but there was no answer and no call back. Whilst the room seemed clean at first glance, there were makeup stains on the pillowcase and a note asking you to empty the bin when you left. The walls are very thin, meaning you can hear your neighbours on TikTok next door and understand every word being said. Fine, if you are playing for and expecting a 1* place to crash (in which case my review would be reflective of that), but at £145 for the night it disappointed beyond belief.

IrelandI got an email on the morning of arriving at the "hotel" ( something it is Not!) and was given a code together in the door. Was also told that the only bar connected to the place would not be open as it was under refurbishment. Now thie information wasn't available when booking the room. I would class this place as a hostel, NOT a hotel !!! And they had some neck charging €120 for a room. No human interaction, half the sockets in the room didn't work. The windows wouldn't open, the smell from the bathroom of stage was absolutely disgusting, and stains on the bed. The list is endless.
Not a lot. Nice little welcome package included a kettle and bottled water.
