Character, comfy beds, quiet and a lovely breakfast

Although generally clean and well presented our room was very dusty, maybe the room had not been used in a while and places like this can get dusty quickly but if you know the room will be used maybe send someone to just give it a fresh going over.

Had a great stay, rooms were nice and comfortable. Oldie worldy but it added to the charm. We loved the vibe. Outdoor space was beautiful and all staff very pleasant and helpful.

Rooms were very dark and tired due to period style of property ,bathroom window low to toilet position ,consciously thinking people outside could see into bathroom .

We had to wait around 35 minutes for our breakfast to arrive after we ordered it. In the room, our bath was weirdly high and the shower was over the bath so stepping in and out was a little treacherous, but I do have a hip condition so may be ok for others

A few little niggles regard the accommodation, we were in the annex, although it was a standard room the first thing we noticed was a quiet off-putting brown mark on the toilet seat secondly the shower was hard to regulate it was either scalding hot or freezing cold and the bath was very slippery and bath mats had to be obtained from the reception in the main building thirdly there was no complimentary tissue in the room

Location was spot on the breakfast was pretty good but there seemed to be a problem providing brown bread which seemed quite baffling for such a grand place

Our room was well situated, being as far as possible from wedding celebrations. Main building interesting historically. Grounds also good, especially as the weekend was sunny. Breakfasts very good. Dinner good.

The lock on the door to my room seemed very flimsy, I would have preferred it if I could have secured it more from the inside.

The food was excellent, as was the service. I liked the quirkiness of the room.

The stairs were a little horrid. Very scary judging stairs with heels and luggage. The rooms are tired and could do with the mould on the windows being sorted.

Loved the venue but the rooms were a little tired. Loved the food it was gorgeous. Loved the staff they were fantastic very good team not much seating for guests in the evening

The food in the bar was fairly average, so although we ate in one of the two evenings, we did not want to use the restaurant facility again.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was very nice! The grounds are lovely and the setting excellent. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.

Lack of mobile phone signal…apparently loss of signal after a mill was taken down as mentioned by staff! Wi-Fi was terrible also using the cloud. If you want comms…Get signals out of the area in populated surroundings cause you won’t get a signal here.

An old building with a church attached to the building (not accessible to guests, but lite up and night and lovely lighting), in a scenic location made it an amazing stay. Staff were really friendly and went above and beyond the normal expectations. Hearty breakfast and really filling, lots of selection for breakfast and other meals. Rooms were nice and warm and normal facilities available.
