Parking not good. Disappointing no breakfast could be included. A bit too much dust on the bedroom beams. Public toilet area downstairs had a strong smell of urine in the hallway.

Great staff. Traditional appearance of building. Great pub foo for evening meal.

They don't do breakfast , no problem to me as plenty of places a few minutes walk away.

Nice comfortable room, good bar with garden next to the river. Good pub meals. Location good few minutes walk from station and city centre.

I couldnt get in touch with anybody before 12 midday when i wanted to try to extend my stay I wasnt aware of early closing for the check in on sunday and had to get a friend to get my key or else i would have been room less Thimble sized teacups (however i t is possibly my preference of mugs for my hot drinks )

The room was spacious and very well equipped with exceptional tea and coffee making facilities The bed was super comfortable and the aircon was very welcome as we had a heatwave at the time The staff were also helpful and quick to respond to requests

Paint work was a bit shabby but didn't effect enjoyment. Car park opposite was a bit of a pain to pay as you can't pay for overnight, you have to top up at midnight. Creaky floorboards outside and above room.

No breakfast offered in this location but complimentary breakfast cereal bars and tea bags etc provided. Lovely beamed decent sized room, self controlled heating/Aircon unit, comfortable bed, good bathroom (extractor fan broken). Food in restaurant/pub very good, large variety - reasonable price for the quality and quantity but not cheap. Plenty of garden seating. Location very close to town and river walk. I would recommend this Inn.

I realise this is part of it being an old building, but there are very squeaky floorboards and the noise above disturbed me at about 6am and lasted quite a while

really nice spacious room and the hotel is in a good location, ten minutes walk from the train station

Great place to stay we had a party in town so it was convenient to stay for us Room was nice bigger then I thought comfortable bed we had kettle coffee maker with biscuits and breakfast bar Staff were really friendly and helpful showed us to the room and explained how we have 24 hour access by a side door with key fob Car park opposite and it cost us 3.90 for 24 hours We had a drink in the beer garden before we rang a taxi for the party they gave us a list of numbers it was great atmosphere in the pub It is an old building and lots of stairs to the room something to be aware of if you have walking problems We would definitely stay here again

The food in the Riverside Inn was not great. Maybe we got them on a bad day. I had the Fish and Chips. Fish was overdone and really tasteless. The staff were great that served it though😄

The Riverside Inn is really oldie worldie. The room has lots of original oak beams and features. Lots of little extras too like a coffee machine, teas and biscuits 😁 It is conveniently located next to a large shopping mall so ideal for food or other stuff you might need. There is a lovely walk next to the river Chelmer

Convenient location, close to centre of town and walking distance from train also. Restaurant meals very good. Rooms are unique and I love the style. Worth a stay if you're in the area. The staff also allowed us to leave our luggage on-site as we arrived earlier than expected.

Only one bedside lamp, so lighting was not adequate. The room was a bit cold and the heater didn’t work so we were told to use the portable heater which keep tripping the lights. The coffee machine was a bit odd - you had to manually hold the lever to keep the coffee pouring..!

Nice spacious room, comfy bed and clean bathroom. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits too 😁.

Very noisy floor boards that all need screwing down! I know it is old but it was like people were in my room!

Great location with convenient parking over the road for around £5 for 24hrs. Lovely old building with lots of character. Friendly staff and great fish n chips for dinner.
