There was quite a bit of litter around the entrance to the hotel. A bin was overflowing for 4 days which allowed litter to be blown about. Tables in restaurant were very sticky despite being wiped.

Value for money. Good location. Restaurant food was well prepared. Staff were friendly. We will definitely use again as on the whole was ideal for us.

I know that if we wanted anything to be cleaned, we needed to put the sign at the door. But it would be nice to replace the cups daily, and top up the tea and coffee.

The breakfast was fine in general but terrible terrible bacon. People don’t want this chargrilled, just cook it normally. We ate elsewhere for breakfast on our 2nd and 3rd morning for this reason. Restaurant and bar also close early so no good if you want to eat there after coming back from a full/long day out. 8:30 for restaurant and 9:30 for drinks seems v.early

Location a little remote. No mention that last orders for food are 7.30 pm and last drinks orders 9.30pm with a 10 closing. Stayed two nights, on the first morning there was a one hour delay for a cooked breakfast. There were no cups for tea and coffee. We were going to the Open golf and a couple of croissants and a fruit juice wasn’t a great option to set us up for the day. On the second evening a party of four entered the bar at 9.40pm and were told in a slightly abrupt way that the bar was closed and they would have to leave, not a great first impression. Before we left for bed we asked about breakfast the next morning after our experience that morning. We were told that a ‘character breakfast’ for 90 children was booked for 8am and there would be a problem getting a cooked breakfast after 8am. Therefore we arrived at 7.30am for breakfast which was fine, not great but it was ok. However, for other guests who did not know about this then they would have had a real problem, there really was no consideration for the guests.

Bar closed at 21.30 and after a days travel and wanting to relax with family this was not anticipated. Food was edible but no better. Seemed short of staff.

No plug to have a bath but not a big thing, just strange. Room a little tired, could do with a paint touch up and sealant/grouting in the bathroom but overall would still stay again.

Plenty of parking, got a space right outside the door. Large room and bathroom, great comfy bed and facilities all fine. Breakfast the first day was a bit sparse but only as a large coach group had just left who had demolished everything but anything we asked for the staff member sorted us out with. Breakfast on our second day was much better. Meals in the restaurant were fab, good food and friendly staff.
