No towels in the bedroom when we arrived. Also when we went to close the curtains the whole curtain pole came away from the wall. However the staff were good and moved us to another room immediately.

Breakfast was good and freshly cooked

The place has a weird vibe, between nice hotel and cheap student rooms. I got the impression it's being gradually done up piecemeal, so for example there a nice new shower unit and modern paneling on one of the bathroom walls, while the rest is 1980s tiles. For some reason in the evening I couldn't get cold water out of the cold tap (or turn the shower temperature down) but then in the morning there was cold water. Rooms aren't very soundproof - I could hear my neighbour's phone conversation. Fried breakfast was decent, but it's odd they can't provide a basic cereal selection.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Loads of space in the car park.

The walls are thin so we could hear a neighbour snoring-cant imagine if it was a family with children and us awake with them at every feed/noise!;)..Would of been nice to be able to have an iron or hairdryer for hire.

The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly..a credit to The Punchbowl Inn as a returning factor remembering their great customer service and nothing too much trouble.Location is a 5 minute walk from the train station at Thorne North with hf hr trains to/from Doncaster by the looks(we live in Manchester so great connections too)Laid back, friendly, not too busy pub/venue.Beds clean and comfy.Music off from party room in good time for midnight, very fair.

It was old and outdated. Beds were horrible, towels were old and small, did not match. That is not super important but just showed lack of caring. Staff was very friendly and helpful just sad it was exactly the same as it was last time we stayed there over 10 yrs ago. Has so much potential to be a great Inn with character when there is nothing else like it in the area.

No remote control in the room, no towels in the room, when the towels did arrive the hand towel was stained and frayed and the bath towel completely different colour. The glass in the room drinking glass with chipped cracked. I was also not made aware of the fact that the hotel was used to house people who were on the council list awaiting housing.

    Food was fine
