Excellent stay and well located at Russell Square

    Nothing to advise here.

Excellent location at Russell Square. Comfortable Bed and Good Shower. Hotel is around the corner from the tube station as well. Centrally located, there is also the number 14 bus nearby which goes via the British Museum and a nice park across the road. Breakfast was included and was good, also catered for alternative milk ie Oat milk. They also had free drinks for hotel guests from 5-6pm in the night when I was there. Staff were friendly and nice. Plush hotel and lovely interiors. Cafes, Pret a Manger across the road along with an Tesco express. Further down that street there is some food outlets and a larger Waitrose as well. There is a pub just behind the hotel as well.

Beautiful hotel but disappointed by the size of our 'superior' room

The size of our room. I had paid extra for a 'superior' room, but unfortunately it felt quite cramped and although it was beautifully decorated I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed especially as this was a special and rare trip for my husbands 30th birthday.

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and the location was exceptional. We loved being right opposite a park with the most amazing Italian restaurant.

A very nice 5 star hotel in the heart of London
    • Business trip

    • 1 Queen Premium Park View
    • Stayed 2 nights

The overall service in the bars and restaurants was somewhat disappointing for a 5-star hotel. The restaurant hostess was rather abrupt, and during breakfast, the staff seemed more focused on chatting among themselves (we overheard complaints about work) than attending to guests. Some tables remained uncleared for longer than expected. At the bar, while the staff was friendly, they were a bit too insistent on pushing us to order more. We understand that service in the hospitality industry has been declining, but this level of service is not what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber.

Beautiful 5 star hotel in the heart of London. Elegant rooms, great facilities.

The rooms are quite plain -- especially in comparison to the public areas of the hotel -- but very functional. Bathrooms need more counter space.

Spectacular architecture! The 19th-century building is very impressive, outside and in. Every member of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the bar!

Our stay began well when Marina checked us in. She was friendly, professional, and helpful. It was so nice to be made to feel welcome. As it was our first visit to London, we made use of the concierge desk almost daily. Sean and Joseph were especially helpful. Late night room service was a most welcome and useful benefit. The food at Fitz's was outstanding. The Kimpton Fitzroy is conveniently located at Russell Square adjacent to the Underground station and not far from King's Cross Railway station.

Not sure i would rate the actual rooms 5 star. But comfortable clean nevertheless - maybe 5 Star in 1940. But then you can experience the era.

The Hotel maintains loads of character and charm with great Staff. Nice real neighborhood with Russell Sq and some student vibe near UCL on Lambs Conduit street. Plenty of walkable dining. The Burr cafe in-house is a nice place to work as well.

Breakfast service seemed a little disorganised although the breakfast offering was first class. No complaints otherwise.

Kimpton Fitzroy is a stunning hotel. The staff were great from check-in for my birthday weekend to check out, especially the concierge dealing with multiple requests. The original room size was great with a huge bathroom, but stupidly I asked to change due to proximity with service facility, which probably wasn't an ongoing issue. Reception were quick to re-accommodate me. I was greeted with an unexpected birthday treat on arrival. Fitz's bar is also a big highlight. The hotel itself is a stunning building.

My only negative was the bathroom was small (which is expected) but it was also poorly designed as the toilet was in a weird location and meant you were half under the sink when sitting. Not very comfortable and if you were taller/bigger likely not very useable.

*Room - good size for single room, very comfortable bed. Coffee machine, tea kettle and fridge refilled daily was bonus. Very clean *Location - Piccadilly line tube station around the corner with direct access from Heathrow, also has step free access a bonus with luggage. Walking distance to Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancras train stations. Many sights and other tube stations are within walking distance also. *Staff - every staff member (apart from 1) was super friendly and helpful. Offered late check out and stored bags before overnight train. *Breakfast - was fantastic. Many hot and cold buffet options plus fresh made items and drinks. *Building - lovely historic building next to Russell Square. Many areas to lounge downstairs. All areas were immaculately clean.

    I can't imagine what could've been better! I didn't like leaving!!!

This hotel is a grand space in a perfect location. It's a glorious mixture of traditional and modern, offering just about anything and everything you might want or need (except no pool). We had a spacious room with plenty of amenities, snacks, etc. VERY comfortable, quiet, and beyond expectation. It was a total pleasure in every way. The attentive staff was welcoming, helpful, and always ready to answer questions about transit options, restaurants, shops, etc. My husband and I were treated like visiting royalty and loved every moment. Our room included FREE breakfast daily--a bountiful buffet of fresh and healthy options to start each busy day. We were able to borrow adapters to enable us to charge all our electronics, and felt totally safe coming and going. If /when we return to London, we'd absolutely stay at Kimpton Fitzroy.

The room. It was fine. Clean. Had all the basic things you'd expect. But was a bit small, the sink was taking ages to drain meaning it would fill up whenever you used it, and the shower tray wasn't draining quick enough either, so it would overflow into the bathroom, which was very small, meaning you'd get wet socks if you went back in to use the sink.

The staff. Literally, the best and most helpful I've come across. Went above and beyond. Special thanks to Jason, but all of those we dealt with throughout our stay were fantastic.
