Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnfortunately it appears that the hot water supply over the kitchen sink had been removed (not sure why), and this made washing up a bit of a challenge. Also, as mentioned to Shaun, it would be useful to have a hob installed, in addition to the microwave and toaster, so that meals can be better prepared.
Jen and Shaun were excellent hosts. The location was ideal for our break. In spite of being close to A1, traffic noise was not an issue. The pod was clean and tidy. It was pleasantly secluded and good to have the off road parking. Nice to be surrounded by livestock.

United KingdomNothing it was a perfect stay
We visited pinkys pod this weekend as a small family of three. As soon as we arrived at the pod we were greeted by the friendliest chickens who ate food straight from our hands. Shawn the owner arrived shortly after to also greet us and introduce us to the most adorable pigs who were super friendly. The owners Shawn and Jennifer were wonderful hosts who made sure we were having a lovely time. The pod itself was extremely welcoming and cosy. The perfect size for the 3 of us. It was clean and in perfect condition with all kitchenware needed. We also asked to buy some eggs ahead of our visit which were in the fridge along with fresh milk when we arrived, a very lovely touch. The animals for us were a huge selling point and they did not disappoint. Will 100% be visiting rock lodge again later in the year. Fantastic stay all round.

United KingdomThe pod is unbelievably cozy! It does get quite warm during the day which is expected as it’s a pod, this wasn’t a problem for us as we were out exploring all day :) it was the perfect temperature at night. The pigs and chickens are so adorable and it was very peaceful reading outside being around them. The location is perfect so close to everything you need and the hosts were amazing, couldn’t have been better. We will definitely be returning later in the year if there’s availability!!

United KingdomNothing at all, it’s perfect.
This little pod is a joy as are its hosts and the friendly chickens and pigs. It has absolutely everything you could want or need. It’s so private and quiet. We sat happily with our fire pit at night, slept amazingly well as it’s so comfortable and it’s well located for popping into Alnwick. Just a perfect place to get away and can’t wait to come back. Waking up to share breakfast with the chickens was bliss.

United KingdomWe couldn't figure out the heating but that didn't matter too much and the hot water tap in the main sink didn't work.
Amazing little pod, so easy to find. Jen kindly decorated the pod for my son's 9th birthday. We all loved the chickens and the pigs. Excellent venue and hosts.

Location is fantastic, great for Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster, Alnmouth and Alnwick… the pod is cosy with everything you could need, the hosts Jen & Shaun are wonderful, the chickens are great but the real stars are Del Boy & Rodney. You just have to meet them, and bring them some apples !!

United KingdomA dehumidifier would complete the place as it was a little damp, mostly due to a lot of rain.
This is a lovely little pod, nestled into a bit of woodland a 10 minute drive from the centre of Alnwick. Shaun and Jen are lovely and made us feel very much at home in the pod. Our little one loved the chickens and pigs nearby and was excited to be back each time we returned from a day out. It very comfortably slept 2 adults and a child. It was perfectly warm and snuggly in cold and wet early spring.

Nice quiet secluded spot within a short drive to Alnwick. There was a bit of noise at night from the A1 but ear plugs were provided. Lovely cosy pod.

United KingdomA bit close to the road. Sofa bed a bit uncomfortable for sitting and sleeping. We were expecting noise from chickens but if you are a light sleeper the crowing might wake you up. 😉
Hosts are lovely. Pod is warm and has just enough equipment etc for a couple of nights. Close to places to see and do.

United KingdomLovely little pod and first time staying in one of these. Our host was really friendly, great with the kids and responded quickly prior to arrival. Family had a really comfortable stay and the kids were so excited to stay here. The chickens and pigs deserve a mention, really nice touch having animals around and we got to feed and pet them too. Found it hilarious the chickens and rooster followed us everywhere expecting food and were waiting at the door in the morning when we opened the curtains. Close to Alnwick, which is beautiful, as well as many other fantastic places to visit. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
