Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesUpon arrival, we were welcomed with open arms. Check-in is in the pub so they're performing double duty. The room was cozy and spacious. We ate dinner in the pub which was good. Lots of specials in addition to the regular menu items. Breakfast was included. Freshly squeezed orange juice and individual preferences were accommodated. Parking available in the premises. There is a public bus running every ten minutes to the center of York which was convenient if you didn't want to drive into town.

We loves everything, from the decoration in the room, the modern bathroom, the cute twin beds, the daily cleaning service of the room, the replenishing of the tea, coffee, hot hcolate and biscuits, the amazing breakfast and friendly staff, to the free onside parking, the fabulous quiet location but easy access to the city (by bus or a beautiful walking route). There was not a speck of dust, dirt or untidiness about the place. A very very pleasant stay.

United KingdomThere is a steep flight of stairs to the accommodation - that wasn’t a problem for us, but might be for anyone with mobility issues.
Fabulous Staff, Fabulous Room. The food was just delicious and huge portions - you won’t be hungry. It’s a short bus ride into the centre of York ( bus stops outside) . We would definitely choose The Plough Inn again.

It was a very enjoyable stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very quirky! The beer garden is amazing with lots of tables. The bar was very busy and lively in the evenings. We had a very enjoyable breakfast each morning which set us up for a day of sightseeing. Very good location with a bus stop just outside the property.
