Odd decor, room with no windows won't be to everyone's taste. No kettle in room, no mugs, which I did not like. Red glow under bed can thankfully be switched off. [Please note, I said the decor was ODD not old - in response to manager's comment - it's black/grey/red including an underbed red glow].

Very handy for railway station, buses and ferries.Good aircon and great shower. Clean.

No fresh air ( AC at night goes for your throat after a couple nights ). No house keeping to replace towels ( had same towel for 4 nights )

It was central, new, modern, clean and fairly priced.

Perfect short term stay in Oban

The check in was cumbersome, especially for older people. We struggled at first and encountered another couple also struggling. It certainly is an issue to take note of. Although not an issue for every one, there are no windows. Not for a longer term stay but perfect for short term.

Perfect for a one night stay, or if you only need it for a place to sleep. Perfect location. Right next to the small train station, Ferry and restaurants. Walking distance to central Oban. Paid parking available right at entrance.

The place has no windows. The carpet was wet when we arrived. The room is a bit tiny.

Location is great, next to pier and centre of town. Car park available for a reasonable price nearby.

Check-in system was difficult for us to understand. We were on the way home from holiday and I had used up all my mobile data so could not access the email which was not sent until mid-afternoon when we were already in transit to Oban. On the booking confirmation a PIN number was given which I thought I could just type in when we got there. It turns out the PIN was nothing to do with access to the accommodation. I knew there was no kettle etc from other reviews but they should rethink this. Also no glass/cup in bathroom but luckily I still had a takeaway teacup in my bag.

Great location, lovely decor and spotlessly clean. Called the helpline number and, since we still could not get in when instructed, a very helpful girl came and helped us. Once we were in there is a keycard that can be used. It would be good to have a card each though.

Guy who we called due to wrong info on email, quite disrespectful and cheeky. Rather than just apologising for a misunderstanding and that the rooms are fairly new and having some teething issues. Toilet was leaking and nearly slipped and fell. Would have been different for someone whose mobility isn’t great.

Good location. Nice rooms and clean.

Again: do NOT book it with two persons. Ventilation is not strong enough to maintain a good and healthy CO2-level = under 1000 ppm in the room. We have measured the steady rise. It would have been 6000 ppm in the morning at this rate! _No warning signal for levels of 1500+, btw. We checked that, too. Now came the worst hotel service experience of the last years: Whereas the receptionist listened and apologized professionally, the Ranald "general manager" unwisely chose unfounded attack over just listening first: no solution offered, but personal insinuations. It took quite several times to get him to grasp at least some of the points (basic maths and Google would have done it, too) and to partly leave the trenches, during the following days. Time which we surely would have liked to spend otherwise. Plus: We had to find something different at that night at short notice, thus. We found it at a comparable price, and with breakfast, water cooker and _with healthy air. So will you, preferably. Plus: At the time of this review, N.N. still plans to keep the full money (and he could have given the room to someone else at least the second night). Would YOU ever want that happen to you? ... You decide.

Important: This room is suited for one person only (or for maybe just two hours), only then the ventilation might be enough. You might like the peculiar red light under your bed. The location is between fish restaurants, but super-close to ferry, train and bus station. The room without windows etc. is precisely as described ... with one exception, alas: i.e....

As a frequent traveller to Oban & Mull, this could’ve been ideal.. if not for all the issues. The location and digital entrance is all fine, but as soon as I got into my room, I was hit with an almost unbearable musty/mouldy smell. Conscious there’s no windows, I blasted the cold air conditioner to try and waft it away but it lingered for both nights. The rest of the bedroom was fine, and on the surface looked ok. On a closer look however, the carpet was dirty and there were noticeable clumps of hair in the corners. Arriving so late, as I was only going to be there to sleep and as the actual bed seemed clean, I struggled on. The bathroom was, unfortunately, just dirty, with toothpaste stains around the sink and walls. There were hairs and dirty orange-red (I’m hoping not blood) stains on the shower drain, too. My sleep both nights was disturbed by the restaurant upstairs clearing up (what sounded like renovations at 22:30) and the constant drip-dripping of the toilet cistern. Overall, I would most definitely not recommend this accommodation.

Location-wise, this is ideal for the centre of Oban and even better for early morning ferries to the surrounding islands. Inside, the shower was a pleasant surprise in terms of power.

Tea making facilities would have been good, lack of a window, lacked the human element. Somewhere to put the bike. The entrance are was used as a smoking area for restaurant staff. Proper phone charging point would have been great. Didn’t like the TV channels available

No signage visible unless you are literally in front of the door. The website that allows you to remotely unlock the front door didn’t work with a Safari browser but did with a Chrome browser. It’s VERY SMALL and we didn’t realize that there are no windows at all until arriving. In our country that’s a safety code violation so that was a little unsettling. There were 2 very strong plug-in air fresheners (we immediately wrapped them up in a plastic bag) that gave us awful headaches all night and since it’s so tiny with no air circulation we couldn’t get relief. Only one towel although we booked for 2 guests, however a nice attendant brought another one after we messaged.

Easy to get to if traveling by train or bus or ferry as it’s right beside all those terminals. Beds were super comfortable. Beautiful bathroom.

The Pier Rooms are new and need some work. Some practical things were problematic. The TV system didn’t seem to work with no Netflix (even though there was a Netflix button) and a lot of apps unavailable. When all lights were off there was a large green safety light in the ceiling which bathed the room in green light and made it difficult to sleep. In the morning before I left I had a shower which set off the smoke alarm and the fire brigade were called. The alarms are obviously far too sensitive. The early check out time of 10am should be changed as most people will be here for the ferry at 1pm so there are 3 hours to fill before checking in. 11am would be ideal. Lastly and most importantly the modern idea of having a staff less hotel is really problematic. The people staying can’t be vetted and if bad behaviour occurs there is little to nothing to be done. There was a huge fight outside my door of some drunken people which led to a police arrest. There was banging on my door and the wall next to my bed through the night and quite frankly I was worried for my safety. With nobody to help on the premises I felt incredibly vulnerable, even though I’m an adult male. All in all a good hotel but some serious issues to iron out!

The rooms were perfectly located and very comfortable. Well appointed and nicely decorated. Right by the ferry terminal. Liked the ease of access with the virtual key.
