Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFor the number of people on one given floor, there needs to be at least 5 or so toilets and shower facilities! How can you expect so many people to be ready for checkout by 10:00AM with just one shared toilet and shower facility? Amidst this, cleanliness in them is too much to expect for. Furthermore, for a room that is shared by 6 or more people, why are there only 2 plug points? There needs to be at least one near each bed! Provision of more plug points and toilets and shower facilities would greatly improve the experience of future lodgers.

United KingdomNo, I did not request a quiet room! I have enough experience to know this is not possible in a shared dorm! What I DID LIKE was the kindness of the young staff member who provided me with earplugs. Thank you👍🏼😀& whose kindness made my stay more pleasant.
Breakfast was great! I enjoyed it very much. It was made more enjoyable by a friendly, young staff member playing great music @ a comfortable volume.

United KingdomThe rooms could use more locker facilities. Lads that leave their socks on the floor, especially when you have a bottom bunk. Does need more sockets closer to the bunks.
Some of the decor is dated, so don't expect the Hilton or a Ritz on a budget. If you want an affordable and welcoming venue, with it's own Bar. On the foot step of Central London with great Transport connections. Ta-Da. (Stone throw between Edgware Road, Marylebone and Baker Street, Even 18 Bus to Euston) On you're arrival you could be welcomed by friendly and helpful staff Norbet, Ryan or Ella. The place does have a 24 hour reception, with the access to the rooms being behind a secure door. Even the room doors have there own codes. The place is kept as clean as possible by the housekeeping. Continetial Breakfast in the bar for £3 or also a walk around the corner to Tescos.

United KingdomMostly the room and so many people coming in and out at all different times but that is the nature. For the price and location there really are no complaints
The bed I had was actually comfortable. The codes changed daily so you knew you were safe. Although very loud and obviously right in your ear and people constantly coming in and out but hey ho. The Scottish guy was funny. The African cleaner guy I forgot his name was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Cheap pints also which is always a welcome in today's world

United KingdomRoom was similar to a holding cell, badly needed plastering and the beds had very little space, you can only lie down in these beds A bit of work on the walls and this place could be decent
Breakfast left a lot to be desired but was only £3 Check in and check out was simple Could hang around after checkout

BelgiumIt was a very bad hostel experience for me. -the water doesn't even run in the showers on the 2nd floor -it was dirty especially the bathrooms, hairs everywhere even though they 'clean regularly' -some of the staff members were way too intrusive and inappropriate, entering the women's dorm with no evident reason and without knocking and were semi harrassing us by imposing themselves on us (they wanted to join us to carni) and by offering us a drink -the room was way too small and is advertized as a 6 bedroom female dorm, but there are 7 beds... -there is barely any room to store your stuff in and many of the beds don't have charging ports in the vicinity -my friend got bitten by what we presume were bed bugs (by the pattern, bite size, etc) -the code keeps changing so everytime you have to ask for the new code of the day. I guess it's good for safety but it is not very convenient -there were a couple of weird people staying at the hostel, some were singing and playing the guitar in the hallways on the stairs at night while others were just creepy I could go on but I'll leave it at this In short even though it was affordable it's definitely not worth it in my opinion
The people at reception were okay (the girl and the guy in glasses) The location is pretty good and the area is calm at night There's also many restaurants and supermarkets in the area You can keep your luggage in the storage room for free before check in, mind you after check out it's a paid service

United KingdomNot the place related but people that are also there .. Hmm I asked what the time was for my phone when it died so I put it on charge and asked the other ladies when they was awake and doing stuff but they ignored me and didn’t say anything.. I’m not sure if this was specifically because they didn’t want to speak to anyone and wanted complete silence. I did myself .. but it’s like I just needed to know the time because we had to leave at 10 so I didn’t want to oversleep
I had the best sleep in my whole life here!!, didn’t expect it. The mattress was so relaxing and peaceful I could sleep all day, no one bothering you , peaceful, felt safe, relaxed, calm and did my own thing, I didn’t expect to like it so much. Though I am use to big hotels and fancy ones. This was so much more peaceful and friendly. Down to earth people that run this. I liked this vibe, it was inside a pub, great location near the station. When I went inside there was a friendly man running the place, made it easy and gave me the right information, had a good chat, when I went to the room, it was quiet , you could hear the weather outside and a pretty view. Honestly I enjoyed my time here!! I’m so glad I stayed the night.

AustraliaThe bathroom facilities were dodgy, as were the beds (and had no curtains). There were not enough lockers - 9 beds but only 8 lockers and 4 of them had doors you could lock. Staff had weird vibes (not lovely for a solo female traveler), and cleaners came to mop the room at 9pm. Downstairs at the bar smelt weird too. It wasn't unsafe, but you can find much nicer hostels for the same price.
The location was good, and there is also a cheap breakfast available.

United KingdomIf they took the lockers out of the rooms I'd prefer it as some people come in late and bang the doors but thats a minor thing. And yes do not leave laptops and phones unattended thinking others will look after them for you, you're old enough to travel you're old enough to take care of your own belongings.Drunk and happy is not an excuse for leaving your stuff all around the place.
Rooms tend to get busy so don't turn up expecting to pay cash and get a bed.You have to book online.Even if you have fistfuls of cash..you have to book online and you MUST have proper ID.The location is very very central just behind Marble Arch and within easy reach of busy Edgware Road with its fresh fruit market and Marylebone the other side which has classy restaurants. One tip dont pull out you mobile or wallet in public or use bank cashpoints which are outside the banks. The local people are lovely but it is a very busy central London area so as with all busy cities act accordingly and use Marylebone side tube at night.Nice bar with good choice of drinks alcoholic and otherwise. No fridge. No cooking.Just microwave.
