Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This historial building is lovely maintained. The sweet smell of roses captures your mind even before you step into the garden. We have a very enjoyable stay. The host is very friendly and helpful and guide us around. Very glad to see that an old building has been put back to life and in good use. Freshly cooked breadfast with lots of choices.

United KingdomJust comments, not criticisms: bed too short for tall husband, so wife had to sleep on the settee (it was very comfortable, so no problems, no suggestion that places should cater for people's height!). The bathroom could do with a chair/ stool to put clothing on rather than having to put it on the toilet. All very minor.
Self catering : very clean, comfortable, really nice facilities (bathroom, kitchen), plenty of parking, very nice shower! We were made to feel very welcome. Milk in the fridge, some tea and coffee. Location good, co-op very close, petrol station close. Plenty to do and see in the area. We had a very nice stay.

SwedenAn extraordinary and so beautiful place! You feel the harmony you are surrounded by several majestical buildings and it´s just lovely! Super comfortable beds and bed linen, so clean everywhere and you really feel you live in a small piteresque village that you usually only see in movies. The owners were super nice and informative!

We have stayed before some time ago and the were returning for a wedding locally. We were met by James the owner who was charming and friendly . The hotel is a period built house and has the characteristics of a stately home. Beautiful paintings, period furniture grand fireplaces. All in all a very welcoming ambience. The room was superbly appointed with views to the well kept gardens. A wonderfully comfortable four poster bed awaited and a delightful ensuite completed the room. The bed was comfortable and the pillows just right. Breakfast was served the next morning and everything one could possibly require was available. Croissants, yogurt, cereals, cooked breakfast, vegan etc were all on offer. The dining room and food was exceptional. All in all an excellent stay and we will most definitely be returning very soon. By far the best hotel we have stayed in recently and we travel a lot. A massive thanks to James for saving the day with Green ribbon...the wedding was superb

United KingdomNothing at all!
I don't usually make reviews but this property was truly exceptional! Our welcome was relaxed but professional, informative and with a thorough explanation of the property, room facilities and arrangements for breakfast. We were able to choose our breakfast time and the system in place to organise dining room space made breakfast a peaceful and lovely experience- we felt very spoiled!! Breakfast itself was huge with a wonderful comprehensive array of foods which were beautifully presented- pastries and breads etc were presented like an afternoon tea! There were very high end jams, honey and soft fruits etc... cooked breakfast was cooked to order and again a very high standard. Itself The property has been carefully and lovingly restored with its history and character in mind. Our host gave us a fascinating history of the house and had gone to the trouble of having resources in the sitting room for further reading if interested (and the history was very interesting!). There was a thoughtful honesty box which we didn’t use but thought was a lovely touch. Attention to detail from the communal rooms to the bedroom (ours was the George room) and bathroom were fabulous. Our host when asked gave us really useful advice on the local pubs/places to eat and was spot on with the recommendations.. we came away for some time somewhere a little bit special and this property was absolutely definitely that and more!!! Do not hesitate.. book…This is an absolute gem! Thank you for making our trip such a special one!

United KingdomVery old property, 1700's so the plumbing was extremely noisy, but this was no fault of the owners.
Breakfast was exceptional, high quality & delicious. The little extras & attention to detail was superb. Probably our best ever breakfast in a B&B & we have tried a few! Very comfortable bed, Smart TV & free off road parking which is always a bonus.

United KingdomOnly a slight improvement could be a new mattress as it was rather soft for us. Otherwise perfect.
Phil was very welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. He carried our bags up to the room for us and explained the facilities. The room was very pretty, clean and plenty of tea and coffee etc. The four poster bed was a lovely addition. The breakfast was excellent, everything you could want. Will definitely be back next year to discover more of the lovely city of Bath.
