What an amazing venue! Surely the oldest place I have ever stayed and the pub downstairs was bang up to date! A fantastic fusion ! Helpful friendly staff, gorgeous towels and bedsheets and a great shower!!

Wasn't an issue but breakfast is not available. Im sure food can be picked up locally. All in all - no complaints.

Stayed in the hotel / pub because it was so old and looked great. Room was large and the bed was very comfortable. I booked one night and really enjoyed it. Plan a return visit and stay for longer. Really cool too. Food available in the evening in pub downstairs. I have stayed in pubs before and the noise has been a nightmare. Its unreasonable to expect no noise from a pub - I certainly had no concerns with noise during my stay. I was also able to leave my bag for a few hours - really important for travellers using public transport and wanting to explore without lugging bags everywhere.

Easy check in/out. Rooms comfortable and shared bathroom clean. Ideally located for gigs at nearby music venues. Good value for money.

We booked a twin room and it was clean, comfortable and In a great location. We had a shared bathroom which we initially thought would be a problem. But it wasn't, there were 2 bathrooms available and they were both properly clean.

As you would expect with a old property it has many creaks and unleveled floors the stairs to downstairs are quite steep so just be mindful of that.

It’s the second time we have stayed here. The wooden beams throughout are enchanting. The building really is beautiful it’s quite a wonderful thing to have it still standing after all this time. We stayed in the room where the old crown sign protrudes put on the front and it was to be able to sit on the bench and drink our morning coffee and watch the world go by. We will for sure be back we love this place.

Other than the coffee splashes on the wall I'm guessing from previous guests that's was only downfall. It didn't dampen our stay.

Always a good stay. People are great here, easy to get anywhere. This place is steeped withhistory.

A bit noisy outside the following morning, but completely our fault as we forgot to shut windows overnight! Cleaner knocking on our door at 9.55am.

The room with en suite was absolutely gorgeous!! We could have stayed in the room and not bothered going out!!!

My room was baking hot and there was no AC. The window could not stay open because the fitting is long term broken/removed. My room stank like the inside of Domino's on the first night because it was above the kitchen! The noise from two inconsiderate drunken girls in the next room (No2) was intolerable but this isn't the hotel's fault. A filthy hand towel was in one of the bathrooms for both of the days I was there. I seemed to be invisible while waiting at the bar downstairs until I had to be borderline rude to get noticed/served - although I get this problem in a lot of places!

I assume this place was once a traditional coaching inn from horsedrawn transport days. It's pretty well as you'd expect for a room above a pub with live events and late hours! Tea making facilities in the room. Refurbished shared bathrooms. The bed was comfortable. There was a sink in the room. The Northern Soul event downstairs was fun.

I message the staff a few days after because I forgot a t-shirt in my room but no one from the staff ever answered.

I enjoyed so much the experience, for who likes party and historical ambient I supper recommend. There´s old pub just inside the hotel
