Very limited menu, curtains didn’t keep the light out, only really saw one staff member and the bar was all shut up around 9.30 when we went and sat in the lounge

The rooms just needed upgrading, the paint was peeling off the walls and the carpet and furniture very old and used but the majority of the room was still clean

A beautiful old building in a beautiful town. The food was amazing and we had a room with an en suite and a sea view with balcony! Although the rooms could really do with some TLC it was a lovely stay and we will definitely book again!

Shared bathroom. Rooms need a bit of refresh and bed a bit uncomfortable and wouldn’t stop squeaking when you moved/sat on the edge.

Location was amazing, staff were friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Such a nice place to visit

New inn . Red lion . Lovely . Nothing else there £9.50 !!!! Apart from a fisherman's cottage

Lovely experience. Unique however begrudge paying £ 9.50 to go into clovelly. Would not pay it again !!!

Old building so of course not super sound proofed. Can hear people in next room.

Quaint Inn. Pretty. Lovely sea view room. Great staff at check in and servers in bar and breakfast room.

The location is marvellous. The accomodation is reasonably priced and good value for money if you look at the very prime location. The room was clean, and even though we had a communal bathroom, that posed no problem at all. The location in the heart of this village is a winner.

Just one small point which was rather crucial at the time, but amusing in retrospect; there was very little lavatory paper left and no spare roll provided so it was necessary to go downstairs to ask a member of the staff to find another roll, urgently!

The choice of food offered for breakfast would suit everyone; the menu for the cooked breakfast could be varied to order. The food was well cooked and well presented with little waiting time. The breakfast room was spacious and well furnished in keeping with the historic nature of the entire hotel. The location of The New Inn could not be better as it is in the heart of Clovelly; a guest has only to step outside onto the cobbles to experience the unique beauty of this ancient village.

What is there not to like? Fantastic location providing you don’t have much luggage, but that’s Clovelly. Excellent bar with great food and fabulous staff.

Just a recommendation on the breakfast , it would be good to have a fresh fruit choice as well as cereals, toast and the cooked breakfast.

The location was perfect, in the middle of the village. I arrived in the dark, and it was a steep walk down the cobbled path to the hotel, but i was helped by the local villagers to find the way. Very authentic hotel , and a great little bar area. Really warm and cosy in the bedroom.

We were given a room with a shared bathroom despite booking an en-suite. The owner didn't seem too bothered by this. Poor Internet connection for TV. Several light bulbs throughout property not working.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely location in picturesque village.

Nothing to complain about. It was just not that easy to reach only because we arrived quite late in the day while it was raining. Carrying the bags for a few minutes in the dark on a slippery road wasn't great, but we've been repaid with the beautiful view of the location and the kindness of the staff

The staff were all friendly and very helpful, nothing to much of a problem. Food and beer very good in all an excellent location to stay before going off to Lundy. Will be back

Nothing except the weather - but it is February.

Fantastic location, Clovelly is a wonderful world of its own. Very friendly bar in the evening after a very nice meal in the restaurant. Walked down to the harbour and watched the dolphins just off the beach, it was lovely.
