Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property was quite dirty! I arrived before the rest of the family and had to clean.
Good location and enough room for a family of 8.

United KingdomThere are other flats in the house and the walls are very thin. This means you have to be pretty silent after 22:30. That's fine but we booked this place to have dinner together one evening and were told to quieten down by upstairs - we were just talking so quiet hours are quite strict.
Very nice and in the centre of Stroud. Bedrooms very comfy and good facilities including a living area with sofas plus a large dining table with kitchen. A great place for people to stay and definitely recommended.

United KingdomThe front door is hard to open and needs either replacing or the attention of a carpenter. It would be nice if a carton of milk would be provided for guests on arrival as there were no shops nearby open selling the same at 6pm. Lighter weight duvets are needed for summer weather.

United KingdomThe heating and hob were difficult to operate. We couldn’t find any clear instructions. We arrived in the dark and there was no light over the keysafe. Thicker curtains needed in two of the bedrooms to block out the streetlight.
Spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Beds were very comfy. Property is very characterful.

United KingdomThe surroundings are a bit rundown sadly. Unluckily we had two mid nights with drunk people shouting at each other on street, and we could hear it all.
Brilliant place to stay for the whole family. Such a beautiful accommodation. Owner is very nice to move our check in time forward to accommodate our travel. The place is beautiful, beds are super comfortable. Location is right on the high street with shops and restaurants within mins walk.

AustraliaWoken up by the upstairs occupant playing very loud, thumping music and heavy stomping at 12.30am till 3am on both nights. We had no sleep. The bed was uncomfortable and creaked with every movement. The floor sloped too much to walk straight. Until something is done about the upstairs occupant's behaviour this property is not fit for purpose

SingaporeCar parking was a little awkward as we had to move our car to an adjacent car park every morning before 8am. The floors do not insulate sound very well and we could hear the resident's above walking around. We had to speak quietly as on our first night the upstairs resident's knocked on our door to ask us to keep the noise down even though we were talking in normal tones.
Wonderful historic building complete with wooden beams, low ceilings, with a true medieval and homely atmosphere. Perfect location at the end of Stroud High Street with all of the shops, restaurants, and pubs within close proximity. The hall can easily accommodate 8 people and is well furnished and equipped. A great location for anyone wanting to experience a piece of old England, Stroud is also a lovely town and an ideal base to tour the beautiful Cotswolds.

United KingdomThe entrance hall is scruffy, door difficult to open and close, and could do with cleaning and updating. The floors and doors are creaky. The residents of the upstairs flat completely ruined our stay. They were up late watching TV and playing computer games and the sound carried throughout our flat. There also appeared to be visitors upstairs on one evening and a lot of movement could be heard which disturbed our sleep until about 3am in the morning.
Good location on the main high street in Stroud. Open plan lounge/diner/kitchen worked well for a family and plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 children.

United KingdomI had specifically searched for accom. with parking but the parking was not at the apartment but in a pay and display car park with a max. stay of 23 hours and no return in an hour (which caused problems for our plans for the weekend) and even the loading bay is problematic when you have children and all the equipment for them. The apartment floor sloped considerably, it had low beams (care required if you are over 6 ft!), the walls were thin so the noise of the neighbours' tv and movements till nearly midnight kept us and our toddler awake, the entrance was tatty and the doors and windows hard to open and close. Musty smell on arrival but OK once windows opened. There was only one set of keys which made it difficult when our group was made up of 3 families with young children, having to coordinate looking after children while running downstairs to let someone in. Bathroom and shower were modernised but kitchen cupboards etc were rustic. Unfortunately the apartment did not suit us but others may appreciate the medieval building and not be inconvenienced in the same way.
