Breakfast in a bag suited us as we were leaving early to go to the Great Yorkshire show, only 25 mi s away. Restaurant closed as it was Tuesday. Found a great fish and chip shop in Ripon - only 3 miles away All good 👍

While we were there it was hot weather and the room would have benefitted from something as simple as a fan. The breakfast was provided in the room and was adequate but limited. Unfortunately, the pub itself is closed on Monday & Tuesday which we didn't see until after we had booked. This was disappointing as it looked lovely and we would have liked to eat an evening meal and a few drinks without having to drive to another location.

Beautiful, quiet location in a quaint village surrounded by lovely countryside. Lovely, circular walk following a public footpath along a track and then through fields. The room was lovely, with hot and cold drinks provided. A spacious bathroom with large shower, soft towels and toiletries provided. Although the room was compact it was comfortable and had everything carefully thought out to make best use of the space for a short stay.

Stayed one night. Really friendly staff, lovely pub, good meal, comfortable room, peaceful location, large car park. Modern, comfortable en-suite room with spacious shower that worked very well. Whoever designed the room actually put some thought into it. Unlike lots of very expensive hotels, we even had coat hangers in the bedroom and hooks in the bathroom! Spotlessly clean (apart from the bathroom extractor vent).

Obvious with it being a pub, pub quiz from 9pm was so loud below... why are tannoy systems indoors so loud? It's not an outdoor gig, just turn it down a little. Had no choice but to wait til midnight before could go to sleep. "breakfast" was stingy: muffin, little biscuits and a Granny Smiths apple. Just don't pretend it's a 'breakfast'.

Nice convenient location, ideal base for touring. Clean, quiet and warm room, lovely shower. Nice food and drink in the downstairs bar, very friendly and welcoming staff. Cooked breakfast is not provided, but sufficient items are provided each day in the room enabling us to have a quick snack. Great location in a pretty village. The pub bar (& food) is currently closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Not a problem as we found adequate places nearby, adding variety to our visit. Well recommended.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this pretty little village. The staff at the masons Arms were very friendly and welcoming. They showed us to our room, which was clean, modern and had everything you could wish for. Tea, coffee, buiscuts etc. A spacious en suite, toiletries, hairdryer etc. We then went downstairs to the bar, booked our evening meal, had a drink followed by a pleasant walk around the village. Later that evening we were treated to some really good food (compliments to the chef) and drink (which was also reasonably priced). The bed was so comfortable and I had the best night's sleep I've had in a long time. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, and for making us feel so welcome.

Saniflow toilet a little bit temperamental. Flushed automatically & at one point every 2 - 3 minutes, even when we weren't using it. We contacted the proprietor & he dealt with the matter.

Bathroom was very cold, even for Jan(1°outside!!) this made the room feel colder too. Even with the radiators on full blast. We prefer showering but there's no bath for those that do.

One night, Friendly staff, good atmosphere, lovely modern, generously proportioned en-suite (room3) big roomy shower was a big plus, some might prefer a bath🤷🏽‍♂️. Good food and drinks choice.

Good location for Harrogate, including Bettys tea room. Lots of country walks. Located in a nice country village. Food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
