Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn entering door to access hotel rooms there are a lot of plastic bags filled with what appear to be clothing , pilled at bottom of stairs. This is also the fire exit and in my opinion could constitute a fire hazard. This is our only complaint.
We had a deluxe double on top floor. Great views across the Solent. Room clean and comfortable and slept well. Budget hotel and good value for money. Rooms are on upper floors and accessed by steep narrow stairs so may not be good for some guests.

United KingdomThe shower in the shower room had a slow drain runaway & could, after a period of use slowly fill the shower pan, but turning off the water to soap yourself gave ample time for it to drain. In my room & the shower room below, where there were indications of a previous roof/ceiling leak but didn't detract from the cleanliness or comfort.
There wasn't a breakfast as such but food could be bought at times from the bar. There was a kitchen & dining area within the building if you wished to take in your own food to heat & prepare it, with a cupboard allocated to each room containing your own utensils, along with a fridge to store any fodstuffs.

United KingdomNobody showed me the kitchen and lounge so it was as well I remembered it was there. I'm not really complaining though because the guy who showed me my room carried my bag upstairs! The pie and mash isn't £6.99 either, which I think it was in the pictures on Booking.Com. I couldn't get Netflix or iPlayer on the tele because it wouldn't connect to the internet but I didn't ask anyone for help and I'm not a tele user usually, so I'm not really complaining about that either. Maybe some instructions would have been handy.
Great location, lovely bright, clean bedroom, bathrooms and kitchen. You get your own shelf, cutlery, crockery and glasses, food drawer and allocated bit of fridge in the kitchen and there's loads of room in there. There's a lounge you can eat or hang out in if you want to. The staff were really nice and the pub downstairs is friendly and nobody bothers you if you're alone. Never had to wait for the bathroom so no problem with not having an ensuite. Bus terminal is right opposite and the cool arcade with antique shops, AJ's diner and the wee museum is just around the corner.

United KingdomWe stayed in one of the room at the front and it was the week end .The noise /music from the pub cannot be heard at all but the chaos on the street right below until 430am on the Saturday evening /morning was so very loud and we hardly slept having to wake up for 6am . Sunday was quiet and we slept really well.
Super close to Ryde pier ,close to all shops and restaurants, beach ..staff was amazing and welcoming ,stored our bags until we could check in /out .The rooms are great . There are 2 large communal bathrooms with toilets and I extra toilet ,1 massive shared kitchen and 1 shared eating sitting lounge area .All super clean and we made use of the communal areas as we were several friends staying .

United KingdomNot an issue for me, but there are a few sets of stairs.
A clean, simple, fresh room with a lovely view! For the price it is a basic room, did have tea & coffee, but the location is ideal- cross the road to a selection of bus routes, walks along the beach or up into the town. All the staff I met were lovely also! Can be a little noisy from the hovercrafts & 'night life' at times- obviously not a fault of the hotel. As a solo traveller I felt comfortable, getting from Red Funnel via bus was easy.

United KingdomEMF levels were very high on the third floor so can hear loud music within the area very easily. Unsure about other rooms. If you suffer tinnitus this could be an issue and if you are not the partying type, this might not be the option for you.
The rooms are immaculate, staff friendly and helpful, and there are bigger rooms available for self - catering. Smaller rooms are available with shared bathrooms.
