Great place to unwind and recharge with my family, my 2yo really enjoyed the simplicity of the hut and the open field views with cows, birds and a variety of trees.

Nothing, our stay was simply perfect. 25/10 at least!

Absolutely idyllic stay in this glorious location. The hosts, Lucie and Simon, couldn't have been friendlier and more welcoming. The hut is cosy and super comfortable and equipped with everything you could need for a quiet, enjoyable stay. It's a perfect place to rest and relax - super quiet and no neighbours except for the sheep. It's close to the main house but totally tucked away and private. One thing that is worth bearing in mind is that there are some quite steep steps down to the hut if you have mobility issues, and the wifi is a little slow, but you would expect nothing else in such a rural location. We found ourselves not really bothering with TV as the wonderful views outside made for much better watching. There is a gas BBQ available and a fire pit. Do take the advice and visit the Duke of York at Iddesleigh for food - it's simply fantastic but booking is essential as everyone knows how good the food is! Honestly, we can't recommend this lovely place highly enough.

We were fortunate to supply our own food rations but we noticed that complimentary drinks were limited to a few coffee satchets and a few teabags. Bathroom complimentaries were limited to a small bottle of shampoo and a small roundel of soap. Again, we have no doubt that if we approached the hosts this would be remedied but it would be nice to not need to ask.

The Lookout was a little haven of peace and tranquility with those little home comfort amenities. The hosts provided a warm welcome and a lovely send off at the end of the stay. Although we did not need to ask the hosts for anything, I have no doubt they would have gone above and beyond to help.

Nothing really, the shower is not very powerful but I wouldn’t really expect that in a hut so a non issue really.

The peace, the view, the birdsong, the location and the facilities. The hosts are nearby but were extremely respectful of my privacy.

The hut was such a beautiful place to stay!! Instructions were really clear, and the hut itself was amazing.. I stayed right in the summer when it was hot; I left the door open in the evening and a window during the night and was perfectly fine. The surroundings are divine. Surrounded by sheep and so much greenery, I slept so comfortably and would definitely stay again. It was so quiet in the evenings and night, I absolutely loved it!

Set in beautiful countryside The Lookout was such a lovely place to stay. Really comfortable for the three of us. It is small but we were lucky with the weather and able to enjoy the decking area and field below. My son said it was magical and it was!

Through no fault the hut was warm during our stay as we happened to arrive on the hottest day on records for the uk.

The location was idyllic the huts position was well thought out with a beautiful view over the meadow. Our stay was very peaceful and restful.

The bed was a bit soft for my wife's back. Had to go outside for toilet.

Location. That it was clean and modern, very welcoming. Had shower. Surrounded by animals and wildlife. Firepit. Kitchen amenities, good size fridge, freezer.

It was a unique experience to have to go outside to use the toilet, especially in the middle of the night, with owls hooting and squeels from prey echoing in the night air. I didn't mind too much, but my son wasn't comfortable going out to use the loo. It's beautifully done up and you wouldn't realise it's a toilet from the outside.

The accommodation was quaint and unique. It was perfect for a two night stay. The view was really lovely. It was unfortunate that we didn't have time to relax on the deck to enjoy the view, as we were out and about till late each night and only came back to sleep. We were able to admire the stars as there was very little light pollution. The futon was perfect for a small child, but it did get in the way of walking around in the small space. This won't be a problem if it's just two people in the hut, as the futon folds into a sofa.

The bed was far too small, the shower didn’t work the first day. A moote point, but the hut was very hot, with no way of cooling it down.

Location was amazing, it was quirky and fun, hosts were nice.
