The staff could have been more informed and could have provided more information to us ie: dessert ordered was finished so similar (but different) dessert served without any explanation or option to change order. They seemed under staffed but were working hard and I believe staff are hard to find.

A lovely setting with views of the loch from the dining room and bedroom we had. Old historic hotel that was well maintained. Meals served in the restaurant were very nice.

If you don't have a car in loch leven you're kinda stuck as there is very minimal transport around. There wasn't a lot of food options for breakfast, it was vegetarian or non vegetarian, there wasn't any pastry options unfortunately. Although there was nothing wrong with the room me and my partner stayed in, it wasn't worth the money we paid for it, it was very small. The hotel website is a few years old and hasn't been updated, I was excited to try the cocktails on the website but on arrival, asking about the cocktails, the barman said that they hadn't served cocktails in a few years and didn't understand why cocktails were still being shown on the website.

The hotel itself was beautiful, the area was beautiful, the staff were amazing to talk to, they were friendly and more than happy to help. The food was a good portion size, tasted amazing and the alcohol selection was good too. There were beautiful views all around, the gin class available on the website is 100% worth signing up for, it's informative, fun, you get to have a few drinks on the tour of the distillery and you get to make your own gin, name it and wax seal it too, obviously for a price, the tour guide of the distillery was good to talk to, good to joke around with, it was overall a brilliant experience.

Beautiful hotel, located on the lake in a very picturesque location. The staff very friendly and welcoming. The room where you have dinner and breakfast very nice overlooking the lake. Our room was cozy, only the bathroom a little small.

My twin bed was just ok in terms of comfort. But it was fine for one night.

The hotel was charming and nestled in beautiful mountains. Nick was just great. He was so nice and friendly. We also had a great time tasting the Gin that is made in the distillery on the premises. Our dinner was terrific.

Drawers and wardrobe would have been helpful as clothes tended to keep cold. Simple hanging rack. Thin duvet meant we needed the thin rug provided plus items from our car to keep warm at night. Thin wall separation from adjoining bedroom. Flimsy shower unit and delay in hot water reaching wash hand-basin. Generally nowhere to place items, so most of our stuff was lying about on the floor or in/on our cases.

Welcoming staff and good food, particularly breakfasts. Convenient location for travelling to Glencoe, Fort William and coast road south.

Staff was not that friendly or helpful. Check in was at 1600. We arrived at 15:15, cold and wet after getting caught in the rain. They were grumpy about our early arrival, though checkout for previous guests was at 11am. We were asked to wait. After dinner we wanted to relax in the lounge and asked to light the fireplace, we were told no, they don’t have staff to monitor the lounge fireplace and the bar. Quite disappointing service for an otherwise quaint hotel.

    Rooms were nice and clean

The mattress was utterly horrendous, I mentioned this to the staff after our first night in the hope that something would be done about it, but nothing was done about it, the sleep was terrible, I’m staggered nobody else had complained previous to our stay, as the mattress was in such bad condition, this is unacceptable. Also our meal experience was tainted after we were told there is a 10% service automatically added, though can be removed if we wanted it to, this is not a nice position to be put in when other customers are near by, it is embarrassing to say the least and the first time I have felt uncomfortable whilst paying a bill, to assume a customer wants to give a service charge is extremely presumptuous and inconsiderate, and wholly uncomfortable

The property was warm, the shower decent,

This is the second time we've stayed at Loch Leven. The standard of the food had dropped considerably since the last time. The best meal we had was the fish and chips! Although a pet friendly hotel the room we had was very small and no space for the dog's bedding. We had to move furniture around to create space for him to sleep in.

Stunning location in North Ballachulish. Excellent spot to use as a base for exploring Glencoe. Staff were great very friendly and knowledgeable.

Our room was above the bar and it was unbelievably noisy, we could hear all conversations. However, the bar seemed to empty early and there was no chatter beyond 11pm.

The view from the room and from the bottom of the pier beside the hotel was stunning! Food was great, breakfast was good - big mugs for tea and coffee, which is a bonus!

Evening meal. Was not well cooked, very 'dry'. . We had the fish on bed of pea risotto with brocolli. the risotto was too dry and clumped together as it cooled. The Brocolli was very aldenti!, not cooked enough for our tastews and teeth!
