Room small for two adults and large dog. Chair in room serves no purpose, would be better not being there.

Excellent staff and location. Room okay , clean . Superb breakfast

Twin room was a bit small though fine for one. Double room was very comfortable.

Location and excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to sort out and deal with. Good breakfast.

A bit of heating in the evenings would have been nice. But I understand that should not have needed it in MAY!!

I was very happy with my upgrade to a cottage. Breakfast was really good and of high quality. The initial welcome was very friendly and helpful.

Not a lot of choice on the main menu, other than that a lovely little place.

We were upgraded into a little cottage at the back of the pub. It also had a little stream running at the back of the cottage which was lovely. we had a full breakfast and there were plenty you could also have a choice of cereal and yoghurt. Orange juice, tea and coffee. For dinner I had pie of the day mash and mushy peas which was nice they also have a pizza menu and there is a Chinese menu in the pub as well which my partner had and said it was nice.

Has expected a few creaks from the floorboards as it’s an old building but the laminate flooring made such a noise as you moved around the room. We had evening meal, opted for Steak and Ale pie with mash. Was told there was no mash but could have chips. So they were oven chips, not very nice, and the meat in the pie was hard and chewy. The double cheeseburger was not good either. So we wouldn’t have evening meal there again I’m afraid. Breakfast was ok but the only choice of cereal was 3 little boxes of chicopops. No corn flakes, no bran flakes etc. We did ask but was told they were awaiting delivery, which we though was very poor as the pub is literally next door to a mini market. The sausages were overdone. We did enjoy our stay it was the staff that made the difference they were great but for £139 for one night B&B we were expecting better, especially regarding breakfast there wasn’t really an excuse not to have a few corn flakes etc. It is a hotel after all.

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the staff were excellent we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and ok for the most part.

TV signal was a poor and the ariel lead a mess. Found an old sock under the dressing table.

Room size and separate bathroom were very good. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk provided in the room. Breakfast was good. Excellent location for walking. Free car park was a nice touch too.

The room was boiling hot and the fan wasn’t strong enough. Towel radiator blasted out heat and I couldn’t turn it down.

Room was not the one that was shown when I booked on line (it seems the one I booked does not exist, so might be best to take the photos off the web). https://cf.bstatic.com/xdata/images/hotel/max1024x768/254319521.jpg?k=337d48851521a3559990233dffb009f3d8d905102ad03024cd1508c1bb78b916&o=&hp=1 Also additional £20 for one hour later checkout seemed quite steep! (don't normally ask but it was my daughters birthday and would have been a bit of a rush to have breakfast in set time of 8-9, then open presents, and be out by 10!!).

Location is perfect in centre of Hathersage. Room was bright and clean with very comfortable beds, and nice and cosy with heating on when we arrived. Good atmosphere in pub in the evening with friendly barman/locals.
