Meifod itself is quite far into the countryside. Also, the only thing I would say is that the dining area could do with being updated. Flies were a bit of a nuisance where we sat in the dining area. But this is just feedback not intended as a criticism.

The staff were polite and friendly and breakfast was superb. They accommodated our requests to the best of their abilities. I would recommend them highly.

Could have done with more staff/organisation at times. We had booked a room but were placed in a cabin, however we were delighted with it! Clean, comfortable with everything we needed.

Friendly, helpful staff. Family run and uses local produce. Very tasty evening meal and breakfast. Great location, we visited lake Vernwy nearby. Quiet village. We were able to watch a local Ospreys nest live on tv which was fascinating at breakfast.

    Nothing!

The quadruple bedroom was spacious, with a comfortable double bed and two single beds and a sofa bed, should you need it. Bathroom was clean and shower was powerful. Staff and owners couldn't have been more accommodating, very friendly and approachable. Their breakfasts were good, we're vegetarian and they accommodated our needs really well. The grounds were well kept with ample on site parking along with their own playing field / camp site! The village of Meifod is wonderful, quite and peaceful. To top it off the room price was really affordable especially when it included the breakfast! We would definitely go back!

Unfortunately no mobile signal unless on EE. This would not have mattered if the internet connection had worked. I know that this is not the moat important thing about a stay away from home but these days we all have to stay connected. to the outside world unless we deliberately want to cut ourselves off.

Excellent value for money and very good quality food at low prices. The breakfast was also excellent

Sofa bed in family room was broken. We made our own arrangements over that by swapping rooms with two OAPs from our party who had a fully functioning sofa bed in theirs.

Breakfast was exceptional once the landlord and his wife took charge of the kitchen. Bar facilities very good and reasonably priced. Pleasant and helpful staff.

No hot water for a shower in the evening.

We booked last minute and didn’t nite the location or type of accommodation. We were shown to a chalet at RHD back of the hotel which was quiet and very comfortable and an idyllic situation.

Fulfilled my requirements & overall a comfortable pleasant stay.

The housekeeping left a lot to be desired as the supplies were not readily available for topping up teabags/milk etc & the bins were not emptied nor the towels replenished & the bathroom could have been cleaner..it is possible that this was to do with the fact that it was the first week after the prolonged lockdown& shortage of staff ,in fairness. The room itself & the comfort of the bed was excellent .

The breakfasts varied because unfortunately ,as it was the first week of lifted restrictions& the furloughed Chef (usually working Monday to Weds ) decided not to return,so the Manager had to step in to do three of the breakfasts and the usual supplies were not available but he did his best . The location was ideal for me as it was close to where I needed to be to help an elderly relative with a house move.

There was nothing we did not like

Lovely spacious rooms that were well stocked with essentials. The beds were very comfy. There was even a small selection of children's toys in the family room. Lovely pub and restaurant downstairs that served great food and a great selection of drinks.

I book accommodation daily for engineers working away, I booked the Kings Head as it served food. Unfortunately after I placed the booking I was emailed to say the pub was closed that evening so food was unavailable, I replied to say I would need to cancel then as the engineers need to eat, needless to say I haven't heard back, haven't had a refund and booking.com customer service also unable to get in touch, £108 taken!

There was no one on staff when we arrived, place was not locked. When the proprietor did arrive we were handed a key, no hello, no instructions. The room was not vacuumed. We heard from another guest that the restaurant was closed that evening. We had to ask a local resident for a restaurant recommendation.

The breakfast was very good. The server was courteous.
