The staff members were very friendly and helpful but the service at dinner was very slow on both nights. The restaurant is not large but it was very busy and the waiters and the kitchen seemed overstretched.

The food at all meals was excellent and the ambience was good too. The bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed.

Couldn't find fault anywhere, we will definitely be returning to the Kilchrenan again.

Fantastic stay at the Kilchrenan, the room was spacious and well fitted out with all you need for your stay. Plenty of carparking available, and so peaceful once the pub closes. The food was top quality and the staff were very friendly, our two dogs were made very welcome.

There was no TV in our room which was not an issue as it is our bad for not checking before hand but the area is so nice and quite remote there was no need for one! The room had a speaker in so this was entertainment enough for us. 10AM check out which I felt was quite early but since we stayed in the hotel for dinner it gave us lots of time to go explore Oban so worked out well (:

It is a tricky road to drive up to this property but so worth it! My partner and I enjoyed our stay here very much and definitely would stay again. We planned to go into Oban centre for dinner but after having lunch in the restaurant (best BLT ever) we decided to have dinner there instead. Great choice on our part as the food was so lovely again we had breakfast in the morning too!! Such nice staff and just a great stay all round.

Lovely, cosy, clean, good size and comfortable rooms, exactly as in the pictures. Very quiet. Very good breakfast. I cannot fault anything. Unfortunately the pub was closed the evening we stayed and there is not much nearby to have dinner but we were given some recommendations in Oban and Loch Awe.

Not a thing! It’s 5 miles off the main road so a 10 mile round trip if you are on your way somewhere, but if you like off the beaten path, this hits the mark!

Gorgeous inn with a spacious and well appointed room. Very comfortable bed- just a cozy space on a cool night. The bar and restaurant are gorgeous with a real highlands flair.

We almost don’t want to rave about this place because we want to keep a secret to ourselves. Food was amazing, staff incredibly friendly and responsive, very comfortable rooms, location was beautiful and conveniently located near Oban, and it was absolutely our favorite stay on our recent vacation. The bunk beds were also a huge hit with the kids—comfy and warm.

We loved it here! After an 8 hour drive from Bristol this was our first stop of our holiday and will be hard to beat! Perfect, quiet location with lovely local walks for us and our 2 dogs. The evening meal and breakfast were outstanding and the service was some of the best we’ve had. Our mother in law said it was the best pub meal she’s ever had! Having come from a week in London the week prior Scottish hospitality put London service to shame! No TV but we really liked that, we didn’t come here to sit in our room and watch TV, we sat in the bar and played cards, perfect!

Just what a fabulous place! 15 min off the highway... About 30 min outside Oban. What a find this place was. Amazing food for such a location. And a nice small pub. A stream outside. Three horses in the field - black, white, and brown. Lovely staff. Lovely place. We ended up here by accident and what a great accident it was. When we come back to Scotland, we will go out of our way to spend a long weekend here.

We had a lovely stay, food was great and the staff great! They were specially accommodating to us as we arrived very late, after the kitchen was closing, but they got some food ready for us before hand so we could have dinner there.

At the time of year, there was a lack of staff to open the attached restaurant. I was dropped off my friends and didn't have a car so couldn't source other food in the area. They were communicative about this so I had brought a meal intentionally, but this was still unfortunate as I would have liked to try the restaurant.

The room was so cute! Quiet, clean, large bathtub and comfortable bed. There was coffee/tea in the room but they additionally left a few beers in the room for me as the downstairs bar was closed on Mondays. The breakfast included in the morning was delightful and the staff was super friendly.

We were unable to enjoy dinner here as the pub was closed. Which would have been fine if the restaurant that they directed us to had been open. Not much around for many miles.

Location is lovely, country roads to walk. Loch Awe nearby, loads of wildlife, Birds and mammals Breakfast is excellent, I selected specific items from the menu as I knew I'd never eat it all.
