Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room obviously hadn't been in use for a bit as there was a funky drain smell in the shower room, 15 minutes of having the door closed with the extractor on cleared it but it should have been checked before. The room could use a touch of paint, skirting and window especially.
The hotel is in a great location, nice green space outside. Great vintage/history feel. Staff were friendly and the breakfast included was good value for London.

United KingdomThird floor narrow staircase made lifting the suitcases difficult.
The Hotel was very good the only down side was our room was on the third floor and the last flight of stairs were very narrow which made it difficult to carry the suit cases up as there isn't a lift. Our room looked as though it had been recently renovated but I don't know if the other rooms were to the same standard.

BelgiumThree things, which cost one rating less each. 1. No elevator! I had my room at 3rd floor, which means about 35 floors per day, considering I accessed my room multiple times per day, particularly though early in the morning when going to breakfast at -1, and upon arrival and check out with all the luggages. Stair moquette is also quite used and slippery at the edge, and stairs between 2nd and 3rd floors were were narrow. Recommended to ask for a room at 1st or 2nd floor at maximum. 2. No WiFi! I my room, no connection was available, and even in other areas, when connected, the quality and stability of the signal were not ideal. Not suitable for intensive working sessions. 3. The room! I understand the London standards, but here we were a the limit. I could almost touch ceiling with my elbow and the two side walls with my hands. I could spend a pleasant time for 4 nights just thanks a trivial optimisation of my stuff within the three shelves available. The safe is at the lowest position possible. The wooden floor under the mosquette was very noisy, as well as the door was not enough soundproofing. Furnitures were quite used, curtains had some stains and window was not perfectly closing (kind of old style system). Anyway, enough sockets, lights and comfortable bed. These are defects especially considering the 200£ per night (stay in May, booked 3 months in advance) and the 3 star category go the hotel.
The location, near King’s Cross/St. Pancras, Euston and Russel Square stations, but also in front of quite parking with limited traffic at night. The staff, very kind and polite, always available and responsive. The cleaning staff, especially for the change of sheets and towels. The bathroom, large enough (in comparison to the rest of the room), quite new, with efficient sinking, abundant shower jet and quality soaps (shower gel, shampoo and conditioner). The breakfast, with hot sausages, bacon and eggs, fresh fruits and yogurt, juices, jams, overall of higher quality than the category of the hotel.

LuxembourgThe isolation between the rooms, we could hear our neighbours and when people were passing the hall during the night, that was unpleasant. We also took Breakfast included an were a bit disappointed, that everyday there were the same things and sometimes, things ran out.
The location was perfect, not far from the St Pancras International and Metro Station Russell Square and still, it was a very quiet and peaceful location. The cleanliness was impeccable. Everyday, we got new fresh towels, which was nice. The stuff was friendly and we fell safe in the hotel. In the day of our departure, they were kind to accept to keep our luggage safe, while we visited and waited for our trip back home.
