Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandIt was located in a back ally way. The women on the phone seemed disinterested in helping us get in our front door. We never saw a real person. It was a very small studio unit. The Booking.com description over sold what we got. It was expensive for what we got in our opinion.
It was newly renovated.

United KingdomWould be nice to have more hangers and a bigger chest of drawers. Please clean the shelf at the top of the bed/sofa as it is the only space to store luggage and it was very dusty and all the dust ended up on the bed after moving the suitcases around. Please be aware that the picture of the outside space is bit deceiving, it is just a couple of chairs in front of the main door with is on a side street. Make sure to bring an eye mask as there are no curtains and there two large glass panels which let it lots of light!
Great location, very close to the harbour. The studio is small but you get what you pay for! We found it quite cute :) It was definitely big enough for two adults and a whippet (no extra charge for a dog which is appreciated!) Bed is comfy but quite small.

United KingdomThe door didn't open and close easily. Shower kept going hot and cold. The room was cold on arrival. A security light would be beneficial to open key box on arrival. Overall very good accommodation.
The location was good with easy parking.

United KingdomThe most serious drawback(no pun intended) was the lack of any form of curtain or blind at the full length windows either side of the front door and the window pane itself in the front door. This meant that ambient light from the town came into the studio at night. In high summer when the sun rises at 4:30 am, sleeping must be very difficult. And it would not be much of a problem to rectify. Also, we arrived in the dark and rain to be met with two rental cottages within 100 yards of each other, both going by the name of The Hideaway and each having identical key safes outside. We spent a long time trying to open the wrong key safe. Either the two owners of the two properties need to have a conversation with each other or this needs to be mentioned in the directions, which, unless you are using the What3Words app, does not take you to the obvious front door of the property.
A masterpiece of miniaturisation in a charming little ginnel in a lovely, and typical Cornish harbour town. Very well equipped and perfectly warm and comfortable.

United KingdomThe ‘private’ patio seating area is not as private as indicated - is completely open to the ‘alley’ / backs of other properties/ walkway. As it goes, it was nice to say hello to the neighbours/ the few people who walked past but was not as expected.
Like a great ‘tiny home’ - had everything we needed in a great, quiet location. The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of ‘bits and bobs’ there we wouldn’t have expected. Things like washing up/ cleaning stuff you often need to go and buy were already there. ( as were tea / milk etc). The space is small but well thought through. Comfortable temperature. Heated towel rail that dried wet towels/ swimmers. We got street parking close by. Easy walk to harbour. Pleasant outside area. Great value and would return.

United KingdomPossibly an issue with humidity which was building up during the night due to lack of ventilation. With the door slightly opened it seemed to resolve.

United KingdomI personally found the mattress too hard, but my partner was fine with it. With 2 keys and keyring we found it very difficult to fit the keys back in the lock box everytime we left. These are only minor gripes though and it was a lovely stay.
Lovely little studio apartment in central Porthleven with easy access to restaurants/pubs/harbour/beach. Quite small inside but space was used well but there isn't a great deal of storage. Just enough room for our (big) dog to sleep. Easy to access and find with What3Words and easy to get in with key lock box plenty of parking on Thomas Terrace but we did stay in January. Can imagine very busy in summer. Very clean and tidy with lovely welcome of milk in fridge and tea/coffee in jars as well as a support number if we needed it. Porthleven was gorgeous in the January sunshine and we loved and long walks along the coastal path to Loe Bar and Mullion and the Ship Inn is a fantastic retreat post exercise!!

United KingdomA set of blinds either side of the front door as the light comes straight in, in the morning. Obviously not an issue in winter but in the summer it gets you up early
Such a wonderful little place, put together incredibly well with a great finish. The host had provided a few items like milk and fresh corn ish strawberries in the fridge. There were even bathroom items like toothpaste and brushes incase you'd forgotten your own. A really good electric shower as well. Couldn't have asked for much more

United KingdomThe overall size of the unit was very small. The bathroom sink was impossible to use as the space between the mirror and sink was too close. There was no view as the windows and door looked straight onto another house. No parking.
