If I had to be picky, washing up was a bit of a faff without a kitchen sink but that’s really a very small detail. The water was easily got next door to the kitchen area from the bathroom. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing we didn’t like.

The Hideaway is a really lovely place. So easy to find and manage. The king size bed is super comfy. The hosts provided huge amounts of food for breakfasts. There is everything you need. We were self sufficient for 2 days, heating up food in the microwave for suppers. The pub across the road did a lovely meal on our last night. The shower was great, lovely warm water. It was all very clean. There is even a small outdoor area to sit in the evening. There are lots of thoughtful details. We used The Hideaway as a base to walk out in the York moors national park. We were very lucky with lovely sunshine, this is such a beautiful part of the world, and we hope to come again to explore more.

Low back chairs, no bath mat, a little bit restricted, no views of this beautiful countryside

Clean, situation, food, pub opposite, quiet, very comfortable bed.

The weather was very hot when I was there and it was hard to get the room cool, but the fan they provided certainly helped. The roadworks outside made parking trickier than I would have liked but that is only a temporary situation

A wee equiped small space with everything I needed. The owners left me to my own devices but let me know how to contact them if I needed anything. Since they'd already provided everything I needed (there was even a beer in the fridge!) I didn't have to disturb them.

Just my personal picky thing due to my shoulders and back. I’d have liked a firmer pillow, however, this is THE only thing, and it’s not a complaint either. Just a picky lady. The accommodation was just terrific :). And self contained too

Awesome accommodations. Shower is also terrific. Mark was terrific, and the pub over the road was a bonus for evening meals too. Except Sunday nights :)

The owners were lovely, went above and beyond with helping and making sure we were happy. Property was tidy and cozy with plenty of food and space. Area is nice, not much around but there is a nice pub across the road with some great food.

The shower could have been slightly warmer and more powerful but it was adequate for an electric shower.

The hideaway was warm and comfortable and very well stocked with all you could ask for in breakfast goodies and snacks and far more than you could expect. The directions for finding it were perfect and very helpful.

Super relaxing and comforting stay at the Hideaway

It was all good.Bed very comfortable. I had a bath and there was not enough hot water to fill it and the room was very hot at night (we opened the windows and thin bedding as also available) . Nothing wrong that was not trivial

My wife and I had a two night stay at the Hideaway in August . we needed to find somewhere to stay that was a short drive from a place called Sutton Bank where were were going stargazing. We spotted the Hideaway online and were so glad we did. Communication with the owners was excellent prior to going - we would be out very late on the Saturday night star gazing and my wife is a vegan so breakfast can be tricky. The owners (Mark and Angela) sent lots of communication before hand and were very kind in providing vegan milk and spread for her . It is so nice to have a fridge, toaster and kettle in the accommodation as many places no longer do this. The place is in a little village and was easy to find. On Friday we went to Ripon and on Saturday during the day to Northallerton that was maybe ten minutes away. Both are thriving villages with, in my opinion, Northallerton being better. If you are like me and a Charity Shop widower ( my wife loves charity shops and she abandons me to find other things to do) there is plenty to keep me occupied. On Friday we ate at the pub over the road which was really busy and that is nice considering so many pubs went under during COVID. Parking was just outside the accomodation. A really great stay. It was very hot both nights (it was August) but that is not Mark and Angela's fault !

The Hideaway is a lovely, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped facility. It very private with its own entrance and the owners are really friendly and accommodating. The whole venue was spotlessly clean and there was a lovely welcome pack awaiting our arrival which was much appreciated. I do hope to be able to visit again at some stage. Thank you.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Can highly recommend The Hideaway. The bed was the comfiest we've slept in. Situated in an ideal spot for visiting Yorkshire. The place was spotlessly clean, Mark & Angela were very helpful with hints and tips on visiting the area and the accommodation was very well equipped with bread, milk, coffee, tea, breakfast cereal, shower gel, shampoo etc. It was the best equipped place we have ever stayed in. There is a pub across the road which we had a meal in which was excellent. We even spent time with Mark & Angela one evening in the pub, which was lovely.

The fact that I couldn't stay longer 😉 Seriously wouldn't change a thing!

Everything was well thought out, from the more than adequate breakfast foods to the shower gel and shampoo. The weather wasn't kind on my 2 night stay, but the accommodation was warm comfy, homely, and had everything I needed. Even down to the extra fleece blanket and the hair dryer. The attention to detail is the best I have seen...ever. The blackout blinds were very welcome with the early dawn. I really cannot put into enough words as to how brilliant my stay was. I will definitely be back!
