Beatiful and quiet accomodation, yet only 30 seconds from the A1

Very friendly staff, convenient location less than 30 seconds from the A1 to being parked, yet very quiet with no traffic noise heard either i side or outside of the hotel. Beatiful furnishings and very nice gardens. Nice walks by the river Nene nearby. Would greatly recommend to anyone either needing an overnight stay while travelling on the A1 or for a short getaway somewhere nice and quiet.

Staff were friendly and diligent. Our room and bathroom were great. I also booked a table for 6 at the Haycock Kitchen and the food and service was very good.

Mattress was a bit hard, so didn't wake up feeling as refreshed as we would have liked. Some reception staff seemed to deliberately avoid eye contact in order not to speak to us; at least that was how it felt. Most did offer a cheery greeting though. Think one was having a bad weekend....

Room was nice and spacious, and clean. Toiletries were nice and the fridge was kept well-stocked with water.

The hotel is situated in a lovely town, but very near the A1 so great for accessibility, but not great for holidaying. Hairdryer in my room could be better! Otherwise lovely

The Hotel was beautifully renovated and quality. Rooms were really clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and the stay was perfect for our stop-over for Burghley. Dinner and breakfast were top quality and good value.

Traffic noise from the A1. Slow service in the restaurant, Saturday night. My wife had an over cooked salmon dish and a salad which included unripe avocado.

Lovely old building with modern rooms and facilities. Dined two nights in the Haycock Kitchen restaurant, I had two superb dishes, Barnsley Chop and stuffed chicken leg both, with their accompaniments were of the highest standards.

Waiting for bar service - however breakfast and restaurant service was excellent

Hotel is lovely - foods amazing , however more staff needed in bar area - tables not cleaned and only 1 person behind bar both days - he was very good but poor guy was on his own - everyone waiting ages to be served . I can never understand why don't employ extra staff for busy hours - what they pay per hour .1 round of drinks or couple bottles of wine would cover the costs - they must miss out on drink and food sales as peoole give up waiting . Or be nice if staff member came outside to seating area tables to take order for more drinks . If ordered a round of cocktails no chance as only 1 person you'd be waiting for ever - otherwise def recommend hotel if in the area to visit stamford or oundle or fotheringhay all lovely .

Bed was too small, should be 5' 6" Bed or larger. Bathroom ventilation, there was no extractor fan so bathroom mirror misted up.

Breakfast and dinner in the evening, and dinner at Provost

This property has been beautifully renovated in most parts. The gardens will be stunning once finished. Lots of small areas to get peace and quiet if you need it. Breakfast really good and staff excellent. Cyrus in the bar very friendly and he took great care over the making of my cocktail. Our room very clean and comfortable and newly decorated.

The fact the amount of money that was spent on the wedding. I asked for an early check in as I was the grooms mother and 1. Was not informed on the email I received that it would be an extra £30. 2. I would have thought if the room is ready charging £30 is an insult

Hotel was lovely . Staff helpful professional overall the wedding I attended for my son was amazing

no tea and coffee our room, I think this must have been a mistake. Outside chairs on the garden patio did not have cushions, the chair had dirt on the seat, so had to start messing about to clean them ourselves.

old with a modern twist ! very well thought out.
