Only issue was the stairs not only were they exceptionally steep but every stair creaked and groaned as you stepped on it

Nothing - this suited our needs snd we loved the cottage feel with all its quirkiness.

The cottage was cosy, peaceful and perfectly located for our needs- exploring the local area and into the Lakes. Debbie couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The outside area and canopy were a real bonus for sitting out and enjoying the views. Everything was comfortable and well presented. The local pub is in walking distance and serves delicious food in a friendly atmosphere .

Nothing really - only thing if I was to be super picky, as it's a beautiful old cottage, the beams are a little low in certain areas, and the stairs are steep. My husband is 6ft so he was careful when moving around, however this is detailed and shown in pictures and luckily didn't cause an issue for us. Would not put us off from coming again as we really enjoyed our stay.

Great property in a beautiful, quiet countryside area, tucked away. Facilities were great, super comfy bed - Perfect for couples! Lovely hosts who we met and were super friendly and helpful. This was our base for exploring the Lake District - with everything within pretty much an hour of the property.

Loved the view from the garden when sitting under the pagoda, loved the attic bedroom, and having my own car parking space. The location is great as well because you are only a 40 minute drive from either the pennines or the lake district.

All reviews mention the steep stairs but not a problem for us. Banged head a few times on bedroom ceiling but hosts had padded beam at top of the stairs. We’re only 5’2” so low bedroom ceiling ok but anyone much taller might have a problem

Beautiful location and cottage tastefully decorated. Chocolate biscuits in kitchen when we arrived was a nice touch.

It is pet friendly but not necessary pet suitable. I missed the info about steep stairs so it was my mistake but my 30kg Labrador could not go up or down on them.

Cute little place, very cozy and comfortable. Very clean and provided all necessary facilities. Little garden on the back which was very good for our dog and to sit down and rest after long day.

The stairs were fun! just because of how clumsy i am i’d say maybe look into added another railing on the other side but honestly they’re manageable so it’s not a big thing!

what a beautiful cottage! i really enjoyed my stay here, it was lovely and cosy, i was only stopping over for the night on my way up to Scotland. I think it was an absolute bargain for what you get, completed kitted with all the things you could possibly need in the kitchen, i enjoyed the attention to detail of putting up xmas decorations. it’s one of those where it’s like walking into a homely stay and being instantly comfortable. i think i will be making this a regular stay but would definitely stay for a couple days next time to appreciate the area more! The stairs were a problem for us,but it is clear when you book that they are steep.

The owners are lovely and helpful , the cottage is really nice and the back garden is a lovely place to sit.
