Breakfast times are misleading. They state 7:30 to 9:30 but the staff are in a rush to remove the hot breakfast at 9:30 without warning so their staff can tuck in. On asking to replace the hot breakfast buffet trays, staff become irritated and defensive but eventually returned them. Staff then came into the restaurant areas to fill their plates.

The day after we checked in we noticed the radiator in our room was leaking. We reported this to reception and they sent someone up pretty quickly. Unfortunately he only turned it off but it continued to leak and by the end of our 3 night stay the carpet was soaked and smelly. The shower was not ideal either as it was off the taps and was hard to get a constant temperature. There was a sign on the window to ask for assistance to open as very difficult to do yourself although my husband managed to slide it open for some fresh air. Like all these big old hotels just needing maintenance and updating in areas.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and hot. Excellent location. Room was spacious and serviced daily.

The hotel is very tired. The bathroom was basic the shower overshot the shower screen. This property really needs a complete overhaul. This could be a lovely hotel in a great location. It is certainly not worth the £200 price tag to stay here for one night!!

The location was great as we were travelling early in the morning on the ferry.

No vegetarian option for breakfast - asked for a vegetarian sausage but unable to provide. Room was clean but floors and bed were very creaky.

Hotel is outdated needs money spending on it as paint peeling off walls and is looking tired. Reminded me of an old person's coach holiday kind of hotel.

Perfect seafront location, lovely seafront room view, nice 3 course meal and breakfast as we booked half board and there were good choices. Staff let us keep our car at the hotel after check out so we had a bit longer to explore Oban Very dog friendly.

Our bedroom was not clean, all the floor boards squeaked, as did the bed. The lighting was very poor, although when requested new bedside light bulbs did help. About 6" from the window was a sloping grey, slate roof, so that was our view with very little day light at all.

This hotel has seen better days - it is now drab and tired. Fairly miserable small bedroom, couldn't open window much weather was hot and we asked for a fan, but none was available.

It was extremely dated and unloved looking. The carpets were threadbare and the decor drab. My room had numerous scuff marks with wallpaper detaching from the ceiling and lots of chipped paint around the sink. It is desperately in need of a revamp.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was centrally located. There was a good breakfast selection.

Handy walk to everything but very old. There was not a square inch on the floor that did not squeak. Felt sorry for the room beneath.

The room didn't feel clean. There were marks on the carpet, skirting boards and bathroom door. The room also felt long overdue some maintenance like painting. It was very disappointing as it took away from the view and our weekend away.

The room wasn’t clean, the shower/ bath/ bathroom was full of mould, wallpaper starting to come off the walls and the whole hotel is a bit dated and over due a makeover.. very poor standards for the price..
