Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. This was a great experience
The whole experience was excellent. The food, accommodation and staff were superb. The building is of great age and beautifully set out and decorated, but like so many buildings of its age, the ceiling in the bedroom we had was low with exposed beams. I'm 5'10" and met no problems but anyone over 6' will need to duck - such is the cost of olde worlde charm!

The Globe was a good location for us and excellent staff with a warm welcome. Room was large and contained a fridge, also teas and coffees. Bed comfortable. Good atmosphere in the pub. .

United KingdomThe evening meals in their restaurant were very good, as was the quality of my preferred beer from the bar.
There was no kitchen in the room which was contrary to my initial booking impression. I was very surprised when I requested a continental breakfast only to be told that this service option was no longer available, even though a post booking email invited me to request one.

United KingdomThe noise from the kitchen fan below was very loud. I complained about this and was told the fan would be switched off by 9pm which it was the first night but two of the three remaining nights the fan ran all night albeit at a lower speed therefore quieter but still noisy.
The room was good, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, plenty tea and coffee.

United KingdomNo breakfast offered 😢 that's really it.
Very comfortable. But unfortunately there was no breakfast facilities. For the price there was poor offerings. Tried to book for lunch but couldn't get a booking until almost the end of lunch session. Was told they could fit me in around 4pm but asked would I mind sitting at a high table . I said yes but thought about it later and I didn't bother. There's a garage nearby so I got pot noodles and snacks from there. I didn't have transport so I stayed an extra night because I could not get a taxi to the train station. A total nightmare. It's ok for a quick stop over I have to point out, the room was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe room at the Globe Inn, Alvington was furnished to a really high standard. It was like staying in a home away from home. It was very clean, comfortable and ideal for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and the food from the restaurant was delicious. The slow-roast pork belly dish was amazing!

United Kingdomonly thing that could have been improved was that they have a couple of high tables used to seat guests for meals within a couple of feet from the bar, this made it difficult to order drinks if there was already someone propping up the bar and no where to stand/sit and drink without booking a table.
very clean and cozy. food was amazing with decent potions. Staff were very friendly

United KingdomNot really much to dislike. My only thing to note is that the nearby sockets are difficult to get to (behind the bedside table).
Check-In was very straightforward and the staff were very friendly. There is a separate entrance to the rooms which is ideal if you prefer to be more private. The room was a lot bigger than expected and included a cupboard space to hang clothes. The shower room was modern with good water pressure. The TV was great...very big.

United KingdomI didn't like any of my stay there.
I only booked this hotel as does food aswell. But was told after booking it that they do not serve food after 5.15pm on a Sunday. By then it was to late to book somewhere else. They should state this clearly on booking.com. so had to pay £8₩.00 just to stay there. Its definitely not worth the money. Its in the middle of nowhere and next to a bust road. There was paint flaking off the wall up the stairs to the rooms too. Looked shabby. Will not go there again.

United KingdomThe hallway to the room smelt constantly of cigarette smoke, and the room began to smell like smoke in the evening, as if someone were smoking in the next room. It spoilt an otherwise comfortable enough stay for me. The room was also quite noisy being right on a fairly busy road, regardless of whether windows were closed or not. This is just the nature of the pub's location, but something to be aware of.
The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the room spacious. The pub itself is nice and food was excellent.
